We the undersigned Resolution Com-
mdtteei of Lodge Rozkvet Zapadui No.
107 in behalf of all our members wish
to express our heart-felt sympathy to
the bereaved family of
Johnny Hošek
who passed away in Nix Hospital in San
Antonio, July 14th aifter a long iliness.
At the time of his death he was 32 years
2 months and 15 days old.
May he rest in peace.

IN MEMORIAM
J. Verim Leedsi, Sr. was born, on Apríl
3, 1892 at Edna, Texas. — Member of
Lodge No. 40. Admitted in 1941, died
after a short iliness June the 16th 1957
at the Gamy Valley Hospital.
He is survived by his wií® Edi-th and
one son J. V. Leeds, Jr. living in Pitts-
bur;g, Pa, He served on U. S. ship Wyo-
ming in World War I and was a mem-
ber of the Methodist Church. After ser-

vices by Rev. Jonte our brother was laid
to eternal rest at the Wharton Ceme-
tery. — Our syrmipathy to the bereaved
family,

I MEMORIAM
Another sad report has reaehed us, that
our good Sister Bertha Mikeska memí-
ber of Lodge 33 has been called to her
reward. — She was boru September
12th, 1879 at Bleiblerville and died at
Bleiblerville after short ilnness June
the 20, 1957. — Her husband J. K.
Mikeska died in 1939. — She is survived
by one daughter Elsa, and; three sons:
John, Willie, and Edwin. Also one
grandchild. Funeral rites were perform-
ed; at the Beliville Methodist Church
and-, her body laid to rest in their 100
year old family cemetery.
Mrs. Bertha Ueckert Mikeska’s life
was spent around Bleiblerville, Texas,
and she had a very happy home witli
her husband until his death, and was
always devoted to her children and
grandchild. She was a good hostess, and
lovedi co-mpany and had many friends,
and had one of the largest funerals that
were ever heldl in Beliville, Texas. She
was a good mother and kept house and
cooked her own meals until the dáte of
her last iliness. Her haňte is adorned
with many beautiful treasures that she
collected, during her lifetime, and that
were given to her by her children and
her friends. She was an active member
of the Methodist Church of Beliville,
Texas, and prayed daily, and read her
Bible daily and was very religious. After
the death of her husband, with the help
of her children, she kept their farm and-
ranch interests active, and dici, well. She
believed in hohesty and truthfulness,
and to do unto others as you háve
them do unto you. Her husband was a,
charter member of Lodge No. 33 of
Bleiblerville, and she was a life long
member of the lodge, and enjoyed their
many functions tlivough the years. May
the Lord bless her sould.

The Charter
The SPJST Rest Home charter spéci-
fics the purpose of the organization:
“The purposes for which this Corpor-
ation is created sliall be to provide as-
sistance, charity and relief for aged
persons of both sexes by aequisition of
land for the consiruction of appropri-
ate buildings, and by providing the
necessary funds for the complete oper-
átům, maintenance, extension, and ad-
dition of and to such homc for the aged;
and to provide personál and custodial
care, incident to old age and infirmity,
in such a manner as to give most corn-
fort, sheltered care, privacy, emoíáonai
stability, and happiness to aged people,
such assistance nnd relief being limited
to persons of advanced age not suffer-
ing from serious iliness at time of ad-
mission, and not including medical care
and treatment cxcept in the čase of
minor, temporary iliness; and to ein«
ploy a suffieient number of competenl
personnel for adequate nursing care,
food Service, personál, occupational and
activity needs of the residenta, aecord-
ing to the standards, requirements and
goals of first class liomes for the aged,
however named; and all available vol-
untary financial contributions and as-
sistance from the public in order to
j carry out the objectives and purposes
herein set forth and more fully outlin-
ed in the by-laws of the Corporation,
which sliall operáte on a non-profit
basis.”

THE VAJDAK FAMILY REUNION
The Vajdak family reunion which was
originál]y seheduled for Sundá,y, June
9th was postponed due to Mr. John
Marek’s fuenral, will now be held; Sun-3
clay, August 4th 1957 at the SFJST Halí,
at Snook, Texas.
E.veryone that is in anyway connected
with or related to the Vajdak family is
urged to attend this reunion.
Eacli family attending is asked to
bring their own basket lunch for the
noon meal.
