TO THE YOUTH
Dear Readers of District 7
Will write a few lineš in regard of the
District 7. meeting which was held Sun-
day, October 13 at H and H Halí in
Jourdanton. The host was Lodge 161 of
Jourdanton.
A large crowd gathered at this meet-
ing and our Supreme Lodge SPJST was
wrell represented. Also the Editor, Broth-
er Hošek and his wife, Anna. We were
glad to háve them with us on this oeca-
sion. Also there were several guests from
other districts, will not start mention-
ing them, for I don’t remember all that
were present.
At noon a delicious lunch was serv-
ed which consisted of bar-be-cueed
beef, sausages, beans, potato salad, ko-
laches, etc. Everything was just fine,
as it could be seen that the waiting line
had no ending.
I want to thank all the Youth of Dis-
trict 7 for their fine talent and co-
operation. Am sory that several partici-
pants cculd not come on account of the
flu.
I noticed that two of the partieipants
had a crying spěli, because they made a
mistake in their part. Never let on that
you háve made a mistake and act like
nothing has happened. I didiťt notice
the rrúst&kes and I’m sure rest of the
folks didn’t either. Even if you youth
make errors, whaťs the difference, I’d
rather see you try with a mistake, than
not at all. A perfectone has to be born
yet, so leťs go on as we are. Anyway,
I think that the youth of district 7 is
Wednesday, October 30 1957
just as good as any other district. There
were several in the group that were in
a program of this sort for the first time
and I would like to see all of these
again at the next district meeting
which will be held in FloresvUle in the
spring, Never say “I can’t” but “lil try.”
Youth has to be helped by the par-
ents. Urge your children to také part in
programs such as these. Some seem to
think that I issue parts for these pro-
grams, but they are wrong and I don’t
think that I háve a right to. On such oc-
cassions I-m asking for volunteer talent,
and not written parts issued by me, So
came on youth of district 7, and show
the Brothers and Sisters of the district
what you ean do. I enjoyed being with
you at Jourdanton and am looking for-
ward to seeing all of you in the sjfring.
I would like for you that took pfert in
the program tof drop me a card with
your address. Please!
Will write more at a later dáte on
matters concerning and organizing a
Youth Club at Lodge 56, here in Corpus
Christi, Texas.
Fraternally,
Mi;s. Betty Jnrica

LODGE NO. 47
Seaton, Texas
Dear Brothers an,d Sisters:
With all these rains and floods, and
a school carnival, and all the other
i things to do, seem lixe I just can’t seem
I to find time to get a letter to the Vest-
) nik.
| At our last meeting, we tabled a mo-
| tion on organizing a Youth Club.
| A nominating eommittee of Sister
i Clara Hejl, Edwin Chaloupek, and The-
j odore Dana were appointed. There will
! be election of officers in the November
meeting.
We are happy to háve as new mem-
ber Darryl Wayne Diviš.
There will be a Hallogeen Party
for the Youth at Lodge No. 47, October
31. You can come in costnme if you
like.
We attended the district meeting in
Holland Sunday afternoon, and enjoyed
the program very much only I wish we
had more young people to participate,
in the handicraft and talent. Seem like
as many lodges as we háve in the dis-
trict, there should be more. Of course
this was the first meeting of that sort.
I’m sure the next one will be more and
better.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ed. MUkeska, Reportér
