$401 million. Fourth class (parcel post)
has a deficit of $98 million.
K the proposed increases are ap-
proved by Congress, and assuming that
the 22 per cent increase will be grád-
uated into three equal increménts
of 7 per cent, the additional. cost of
sending the Věstník next year to our
members will be approximately $327,
based on the current number of
copies being sent out. Over the threé-
year period, the overal! increase would
amount to almost a thousand dollars.
The cost of just about everything con-
tinues to rise. Whére wíll it end ?. . .

New Laws In Austin
A conimittee in the Texas Senáte
has approved a bili extending
the curfew on serving alcoholic bever-
ages in Texas until 2; a.m. on weekdays
and 3 a.m. on Saturday nights. This
would mean a two-hpur exťension for
clubs, restaurants, taverns, and other
public places. This would affect all our

The Suecessful Salesman
The outstanding salesman always
strives to develop outstanding personál
qualities. These qualities may sound a
bit old-fashioned, but they are, these:
Faith, honesty and sineerity, consider-
atioh for others, belief in freedom of
opportunity, and having the will and
determination to succeed. You may
háve heard these before, but no suc-
cessful salesman could háve cver máde
it to the top without employing all
these qualities. He also knows that ev-
erything his eompany taiight him in
salestechniques is only a key to be-
comirig a success. His job is to move
menJs minds. All the knowledge in the
books alone will not do this. He is not
a partner in conversation, but rather
a persuadei* in the product he has to
offer — in our čase, life insurance.
