Slovanská Lipa Lodge was organized
47 years ago, on September 16, 1906.
Only two of the ten charter members
are living. They are Brother John Losalc
and Brother Mike J. Mazanec. Brother
Losak is the sixth person in the top row.
Three years ago, it appeared that Slo-
vanská Lipa Lodge would háve to. go
out of existence. To telí the truth, the
Supreme Lodge was petitioned to dis-
solve the lodge. Then Brother Otto Ha-
nuš, then living in Oklahoma City, re-
turned to Waco and to the lodge. From
there on, the things started to hum.
On Sunday, September 20, 1953, the
lodge initiated 14 new members. At pre-
sent, the lodge has nearly 70 members.
They voted to buy a tract of ground
and to erect a modern home for the
lodge. .
From 19 members to 70 members in
six years, from complete lethargy to full
vigor—that is the story of Slovanská
Lipa, a story deserving of recognition
and applause.
