names of transfers who were: Brother
and Sister L.J. Blažek from the
Nelsonville lodge. They, too, were
voted on and gratefully aecepted into
our lodge; they were active members
of their organization and Brother
Blažek had been an officer of that
lodge for some thírty years. We hope
the new and transferred members will
be able to attend our meetings and
participate in our various activities.
Doris Eckermann, chairman of that
committee, is again to get a new dáte
for our members to get a guided tour to
tour the Fayette Power Plant near La
Grange. Members will be notified by
telephone if dáte is prior to our next
regular meeting.
Dorothy Oltmann was appointed
chairman of a committee to see if it is
possible to get an entry ready for the
Fourth of July Parade.
The Food Committee reported that, at
the next regular meeting, chicken stew
will be served.
There being no further business,
meeting was adjourned.
Following the business session, the
youth club entertained the adult group
with a very enjoyable program. The
performances consisted of skits,
monologues and group and individual
singing.
Afterward, hot dogs with all the
trimmings were enj oyed by the group.
Our next regular meeting will be held
on the second Thursday, July 12th at 8
p.m.

LODGE NO.188 NEWS:
LEON COUNTY
CENTERVILLE, TEXAS 75833
We are very proud to be a part of this
organization. Saturday, June 16, our
District I YAD met in our lodge for the
yearly competition of arts, crafts, talent
and royalty. This was very inspiring to
me, and all of our members who
attended. The ladies from our lodge
who took part in serving lunch: thank
you.
Sunday, June 17, 1979 was our
monthly meeting with 32 members
present. Mrs. Susan Helmcamp, our
reportér, asked to be replaced for a
while, so I was elected.
Skating for youth and adults, the dá>
has been changed from Sunday to
Thursday afternoon 5 to 6:30 p.m..
Bring your youngsters out to join in the
fun.
Monday, June 18, we had a very
speciál person to entertain in our lodge:
Ernest Tubb and Texas Troubadours.
This was a concert and open to the
public. We are proud of our building
and hope to use it often for public
affairs. Many family reunions háve
been held, and we are inviting many
more.
Don’t forget the “Miss Leon County
Beauty Pageanť’, it will be held in our
lodge June 29, and everyone is invited;
time is 8:00 p.m. $.50 for adults $.25 for
children. This is a big event for our
county and is held during the Leon
County 4th of July Celebration. I háve
40 girls to také part in “Little Miss’’ and
“Miss Leon County.’’ We are planning
a very speciál surprise for you, so come
out and háve fun with us. Director is
Mrs. Parthena Van Wey of Buffalo.
Last year’s winners are: Miss Leon
County, Sherri Cunningham Gilliam;
Little Miss Catagory I, Jo Ellen Puckett;
Catagory II, Angela Rogers; Catagory
III, Alisa Gaskin.

LODGE NO. 28, EAST BERNARD
Dear Members;
The June meeting was held the first
Sunday (the 3rd) at 2:30 p.m. Central
Daylight Time.
The His tory Committee reported
that most of the needed information
was in and with some finál review and
proofreading, the páper work and
pictures would be sent to Brother Nick
Morris. The committees for the
District VI fall meeting were
appointed. All other reports were read
and approved.
The meeting honored Father’s Day.
With this we had a group of persons
from our co-host Lodge El Maton visit
with us. We were glad they could
attend. Brother Halam of El Maton
won the Father’s Day prize and
Brother R. Sperlik won the regular
dooř prize.
The usual “Kaffee Klatseh” took
plače after the meeting with Sisters
Sperlik, Brdecka, Hanzelka, Haverda,
Kortis, Shank and Valigura bringing
baked goods to add to the usual faře
given by Sisters Luquette and Nezval.
A good time was had by all.
The July meeting will be held on the
first Sunday (July lst) at 2:30 p.m.
CDT. Besides the usual reports, there
will be some additional information
given.
If you wish to do something
different, come to the meeting.

LODGE NO. 24, CYCLONE
Dear Readers:
The June meeting of Lodge No. 24
was called to order by President
Edwin Marek. Members recited the
pledge of allegiance and stood for a
moment of silent tribute for our
deceased members.
Sister Nelda Marek read the
minutes from the May meeting. They
were approved.
LaVerne Cabla and Regina Zabcik
gave the report on the get-together for
the 50-year members. They decided to
start the presentation of awards at
2:30 p.m. or about that time; the
covered dish supper will begin at 4
p.m. Vice President Bernie Gebala
will present the awards. After dinner
the public is invited to a free dance;
the music will be provided by the East
Bell Co. Brass Band. Everyone is
invited to come out and join in the fun.
Miro Sphanel and Ben Tyroch will
assist with the supper. This will all
také plače July 15th, so please keep
this dáte open.
lťs been decided to háve a night
light put up at the highway near the
sign that reads: “Flag Halí.”
E.J. Geistman also thought we
should change our policy of drinks to:
no beer, sodas or ice brought into the
halí. This was discussed and approved
by the members.
We had lots of ice-cream and cake at
the meeting, all seemed to enjoy it.
Those graduates present were: Alan
Tyroch and Dennis Marek. Once,
again, we want to congratulate you on
your fine accomplishment and best
wishes to both of you.
The secretary passed out refund
checks and the meeting was then
adjourned.
Our next meeting will be held on the
second Wednesday, July llth. See you
then.

LODGE NO. 66, WACO
Dear Members:
SPJST Lodge No. 66 held their
meeting Sunday, June 17th with
President Henry West conducting the
meeting.
Flag Bearers Larry Brém and James
Yates presented the flags. The
members recited the pledge of
allegiance and lodge motto.
Our visitor was Sister Joyce Bantle
from La Cross, Wisconsin who is
visiting the Bennie Engelkes. Sister
