April 28th, in tlie V A Hospital in Tem-
ple. Burial was ;in tlie Bryan City
Cenietery in Bryan. Brother Manning
was a member of SPJST Lodge No. 9,

St. JosepiTs Hospital in Bryan on May
6th. Interment was in Glenwood Ccni-

CLARENCE MARUSIK
(Schod Valedictorlan)
Clarence Marusik, tlie son of Mr.
and Mrs. Edwin Marusik of EUinger, is
valedictorlan of Fayetteville Rural
High School. His grade average was
94.625. Clarence is the three-year mem-
ber of the National Honor Society, of
which he serves as president. He is al-
so a four-year member of the E FA, and
a two-year member of the German
Club and serves as president of both.
He is also on the staiff of the “Blue-
bonnet” (school a-nnual) and the
“Lion Roars” (high school páper). He
participated in school athletics, in-
cluding basketball and baseball.
Clarence is a member of SPJST
Lodge No. 51 in EUinger, as are his
parents and prother, Larry.

Dear Sisters and Brothers:
The aceompanying pictures are of
six actors who will perform in the hi-
larious Czech play called “Posvíceni na
divoké vsi” in the new air-condition-
ed SPJST Lodge No. 88 on Sunday,
May 30th. Curtain time is 3 p.m, A de-
licious goulash dinner will be served
prior to the play, beginning at 12 noon.
MILOŠ KAREL piays the part of Rá-
mus, v/ho is the owner of the tavern
where most of the scenes také plače.
EVELYN VORNSAND piays the part of
“Pepina,” who is the wife of Rámus the

tavern owner. MARY JOHNSON piays
the part of “Vosemetna,” the mother
of Anka. EMAN KOUBA piays the part
of “Grandpa Dupal,” who has much
fun provoking others to get mad at
one another. WILKELMINA ŠIMEČEK
piays one of the leading parts as
“Anka,” who brings about a reconcilia-
tion between various persons in the
play and threatens to drown herself
if she does not win the love of Ferry.
LULL1AN KRUŠE piays the part of
“Manka,” who critiicizes Lelek for the
way he recites poems and then be-
cames more surprised when Lelek pro-
poses to her. This play is a comedy in
three aets. Iťs funny, iťs serious, iťs
laughable, and a play .you will long
remember. Bring your friends and en-
joy this play in air-conditio-ned com-
řort. Be a part of your lodge and sup-
port its activities. ,

The big day is almost here — the
day when we liave the opportunity to
see a good Czech comedy in the beau-
ti.íul Chandelier Ballroom of Lodge 88!
Yes, it is this Sunday afternoon, May
30th at 3 p.m. when the curtain goes
up and your can sít back and relax with
the air conditiohing adding to your
comfort and enjoymcnt! You won’t
háve to worry about dinner or supper,
for good Czech food will be served
from 12 noon on throughout the day
and evening. There will be a dance
a,(ter tlie play to further enjoy your-
self!
This hilarious Czech comedy, “Pos-
víceni na Divoké Vsi” will be presented
by the Dramatic Club of our lodge; it
has sorne mighty good actresses and
actors, several of whora háve been ín
piays for years. Three of the actors in
this Hrst play to be given in our new
building — Frances Olcxa, Tim Kostom
and F. A. Kadlecek — were also in the
first play in the old halí on Robfoie
Street in 1935; and also in the last play
at the old halí in 1964! Our Dramatic
Club has steadily progressed throngh
the years, and people corae from near
and far to see their piays! So don’t
miss this chance to see a good Czech
play in cool comfort!
President Tim Kostom informs me
that our Glee Club with its speciál
quartet are gpiing to sing at the
Czech Day Celebration at Wallis on
June 13th. The members are looking
forward to going to Wallis, and we
at Lodge 88 are looking forward to
