At this time I would like to thank
all the fine folks who háve worked so
very hard in preparation for our May
Fete. We were ready Sunday, May 16,
but Mother Nátuře furnished us with
torrential rains and we had to post-
pone the event. Many of our friends
made the trip in expectation, unaware
that it had been postponed and we
wish to apologize for their inconven-
ience. We hope to see you all again
Sunday, May 30tb, be cause this time
has been set for the Annual May Fete.
We hope to háve better luck this
time and with the added time for prep-
aration it should really be an event of
beauty and precision.
Leťs try again! Remember Sunday,
May 30th is May Fete time at Beyers-
ville Lodge No. 48 of the SPJST. Mon-
day is a holiday for most folks so
come out and really háve a good time
beginning at 1:30 p.m. and continuing
until midnight .Until then, I rernain,
Fraternally yours,
Alfred Gensler,

LODGE NO. 88, HOUSTON
Iťs Sunday, May 30th!
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
This coming Sunday, May 30th ,the
Dramatic Club of fabulous SPJST
Lodge No. 88 is pťesenting the first
Czech p-lay in our new lodge. The
play, eailed “Posviceni no Divoké Vsi”
(“Country Wake”), will begin promptly
at 3 p.m. A deliciens goulash dinner
will be served, beginning at 12 noon.
VĚSTNÍK
Following the play a dance is sched-
uled for your dancing pleasujre. The
players háve been rehearsing for the
past 10 weeks, and I hope many mem-
bers will come to see this hilarious 3-
act Czech play. AU persons who attend
will enjoy the play because it will be
performed in complete air-conditioned
comfort. No one will be able to com-
plain that it is too hot, or that they
can’t hear the players on the stage. It
is hoped that the sons and daughters
will set aside this day and bring their
mothers and fathers who like Czech
plays. Bring them to our beautiful new
lodge for which they worked so hard
in the past to give us such a com-
pletely modern lodge building. It now
is a must to .give your lodge the sup-
port that is needed to continue our
success. Won’t you come and bring
your friends; to the Czech play this
Sunday, May, 30th?
Faets around Lodge No. 88: Kervin
Jacog gave his wife, Louise, all the
eredit for his impeccable appearance
at all our dances. The Blue Room Club
in our lodge is well on its way to be-
conni-ng a reality. Jay Wilkerson, Bob-
by Dobesh, and Brother Courtney are
now collecting the dnes from the
members and it should he open in the
near -future. The sudden and untimely
passing of our beloved board member,
Aíviíi Iforeica, a few weeks ago, was
mourned by all our members. He in-
deed was one df the faithful few we
had at our lodge. The board of trustees
approved the new wing that is to be
added to our new lodge building. Steve
Kelly had a very good idea as to how
we should improve our lodge rneet-
ings. The sociál nights each Thursday
night for the membership and their
guests are becoming very popular as
the weeks go by. AI Grebnick, the Mid-
wesťs favorite orchestra df Schuyler,
Nebraska, will play at our air-condi-
tioned chandelier toallroom. for three
consecutive nights in the near future.
Members are asking when the enter-
tainment eommittee will start taking
reservations for these three speciál
nights. Ed Kadlecek, H. Baethe, and
spaceman Johnnie Mikuláš, just com-
pletecl a temporary storage building in
the rear of the lodge'. Thanks to Mick-
ey Rice for trying to be helpful with
some of the lodge administration
work. Wow! iSome 230 members attend-
ed the last monthly meeting. Sorry
the $100 that was donated by an an-
nonymous member to the lodge eould-
n’t be ušed as a reward leading to the
person who tore down the dance post-
ers at our opening celebration this
Wednesday, May 26, 1963
past February. Leslie and Mabel Guy-
ton are the affable eouple you ean al-
ways oaunt on for two smiles as they
walk by. Glad to hear our friends Mr.
and Mrs. Dixon are planning to give
our lodge some fraternal help, ,
Don’t forget the Czech play this
Sunday, May 30th .Starting time will
be 3 p.m. Come and be one of the
faithful few who support the lodge.
Leťs be friends,

Dear Editor Morris:
I thought I would drop you a line to
show my appreciation for the fine
work you and the Vestnik personnel
háve doně the past year. I really look
forward ta seeing the Vestnik in my
box every week, that is, if the weatlier
permits and a helicopter can bring
the mail up to us. For the past year I
háve been stationed on a smáli radar
site in northern Labrador, about 200
miles north of Goose Bay. Your páper
has filled many oř my lonely nights
here on the hill.
I can hardly wait to get back to
civilization and také an active part in
Lodge 35, Elk. I will get my discharge
in June.
Again, many thanks and keep up
the fine work .

rador,
