Some 3,000 contacts, e-
mail addresses, names,
and phone numbers were
hijacked Monday morning
from the Humane Society
of Cedar Creek Lake
Monday.
Those recently obtaining
animals from the shelter
were sent bogus e-mails
seeking a short-term loan
for animal shelter director
Krista McAnally, who ap-
parently found her stranded
in the Philippines with her
wallet stolen and hotel
room bills to pay.
She assures friends and
supporters she has not
been traveling to Asia this
past weekend.
Hackers also went on a

ATHENS-Jason Hood, 37, formerly of Chan-
dler, was sentenced to 35 years in the Texas
Department of Criminal Justice for the Aggravated
Sexual Assault of a Child under 14 years of age
and 5 years for the Indecency of a Child by Con-
tact.
Henderson County assistant district attorney
Nancy Rumar prosecuted the case from District
Attorney Scott McKee’s office.
The investigation, led by sheriff’s investigator
Jessica Halbert, revealed that Hood had been hav-
ing sexual contact with a family member for six
years. The victim was 9 when it began and was
15 at the time the allegations came forth. The
Henderson County Child Advocacy Center pro-
vided victim services and a forensic interview in
support ofthe case.
District Attorney Scott McKee credited
Halbert’s work and that of Sheila Durden of the
Child Advocacy Center in helping to put another
sex offender behind bars.
“The work these ladies do in these tough cases
is gut-wrenching and sometimes thankless, but
they are the best; and I am glad they are part of
the team,” McKee said. He also indicated that
Rumar is known throughout the state as a tough
prosecutor and child advocate.
