Sodalis donates money to support Cuero
Community Hospital for Alzheimer’s Awareness
November is
Alzheimer’s Awareness
Month. To bring aware-
ness to Alzheimer's and
related diseases and to
support the Cuero com-
munity, Sodalis Assisted
Living and Memory Care
will be donating $250 to
Cuero Community
Hospital for each new
resident that joins one of
their two local communi-
ties.
Sodalis Assisted
Living and Memory Care
offers research-based
approaches to serving
people and families
affected by Alzheimer's
and related diseases. The
care team members,
called Resident
Assistants and Best
Friends, take personal
interest in every resident
they serve. "We are grate-
ful for the home you pro-
vided for mom and the
daily kindness and care
and laughter you brought
to her life," said the
Miller family.
The Sodalis staff-to-
resident ratio is higher
than the industry stan-
dard giving the freedom
to take the needed time
to attend to, care for and
interact with each resi-
dent. Jennifer
Colberston, Resident
Assistant, said, "This set-
ting brings the human
element back into it. It is
easy to be desensitized in
other settings. It is an
intimate setting - a
unique environment
where people are seen as
people, not as a chore."
At Sodalis, dementia
and related diseases are
honored and cared for in
a therapeutic environ-
ment with individualized
plans. The belief at
Sodalis is that there is
still life after dementia
and Alzheimer's.
