Felix Joe Kolodziejczyk
Jr., 67, of Yorktown died
Saturday March 19, 2011. He
was bom September 7, 1943
in Yorktown, TX to the late
Felix and Lilly Warmuth
Kolodziejczyk Sr. He mar-
ried Hope Schuenemann on
February 19, 1983.
He attended Holy Cross
Catholic School and served
as Alter Boy at Holy Cross,
then attended Yorktown High
School and was a member of
the original Yorktown
Gunslingers. He worked for
Jimmy Hurst and Roland
Kaiser as a roustabout,
Harkins and Buzzini as a
roughneck, Yorktown and
Karnes City Housing
Authority, Charles Riedesel
Coastal Sprigging, Pawnee
Pipeline LLC, and Yates
Energy Corporation of New
Mexico.
He is survived by his wife
Hope Kolodziejczyk, sisters
Shirley Greene of San
Antonio and Rosemarie
Smalley and husband
Richard of La Vernia. he is
also survived by his
Godchildren Raquelle
Smalley Godbey, Joseph
Warwas, Emalee Green, Trey
Schuenemann, Sheldon Wolf
and several neices and
nephews.
Visitation was from 5-7
p.m. Monday March 21,
2011 at Finch Funeral Chapel
with a rosary starting at 7
p.m. Funeral mass was cele-
brated at 10 a.m. Tuesday,
March 22, 2011 at Holy
Cross Catholic Church.
Interment followed at Holy
Cross Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Charles
Riedesel, Matthew Allman,
Robert Lee Kaiser, Joseph
Warwas, Eloy Nunez, and
Steve Wagner.
Memorial can be given to
Holy Cross Catholic Church,
Hospice of South Texas or
American Cancer Society.

Norman Oscar
Wagenschein, 93, of
Bridgewater, Virginia died
Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at
the Bridgewater Retirement
Community, where he lived
for a number of years.
He was born Nov. 18,
1917 in Yorktown, Texas and
was a son of the late Oswald
Edward and Marie (Range)
Wagenschein.
He was an alumnus of
Bridgewater College and
Virginia Tech. He was
employed by Virginia
Electric and Power in
Richmond, Virginia, as an
engineer, in the early 1980's.
While in Richmond, he was
an active member of the West
Richmond Church of the
Brethren and later a member

Irvin receives state
public service award
DeWitt County Sheriff’s Office Jail
Captain Crystal Irvin has been selected by
the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement
Of-ficer Standards and Education
(TCLEOSE) to receive the 2010 State of
Texas Law Enforcement Achievement
Award for Public Service.
“I am so proud that Crystal’s dedication to
our community has been recognized by the
commission’s board members,” DeWitt
County Sheriff Jode Zavesky said. “Her
work ethic is unmatched and she truly leads
her staff by example.”
Zavesky said Irvin has headed several
fundraisers such as Taco Tuesday, a softball
tournament, and a police patch show, which
raises money for Deputy Santa, which pro-

The awards are presented to selected

ients for other TCLEOSE awards.

of the Bridgewater Church of
the Brethren. Norman was a
past president of the
Richmond Kiwanis club and
a member of the
Harrisonburg Kiwanis club.
He was united in marriage
June 10, 1945 to Minnie
Elizabeth (Roller)
Wagenschein, who preceded
him in death Dec. 1,2002. He
married his second wife,
Mariam (Blough) Simpson-
Wagenschein May 26, 2007,
and she preceded him in
death on April 7, 2010.
Surviving are two daugh-
ters, Jane Crawford of
Richlands, Virginia and
Vickie Moon of
Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Surviving also are three sis-
ters, Frieda Buelter of
Yorktown, Texas, Erna
Mueller of Houston, Texas,
and Viola Ehlinger of San
Antonio, Texas; two brothers,
Paul Wagenschein of Waco,
Texas and Victor
Wagenschein of Yorktown,
Texas. Five grandchildren
and seven great grandchil-
dren also survive.
Known to friends as
"Norm," he was a devoted
husband, father and grandfa-
ther, and one who was dedi-
cated to the church an to wor-
thy causes.
He was preceded in death
by his parents and sister,
Clair Mae Binz.
A memorial service will
be held Saturday, April 2,
2011 at the Bridgewater
Church of the Brethren at 2
p.m. with Rev. Jeffery Carr
officiating. The family will
receive friends following the
memorial service.

Marilyn Mueller Gaida,
91, of Victoria, Texas former-
ly of Yorktown, Texas passed
away Sunday, March 13,
2011.
She was born in Yorktown
July 2, 1919, to the late
William L. Mueller and
Hedwig Schneider Mueller.
She was preceded in death
by husband Ed Gaida and
daughter Carol Gaida
Lowman.
Marilyn is survived by her
children Hedy Gaida Stakes
and William Leonard Gaida
of Victoria and Edwin Earl
Gaida of San Antonio, Texas,
and four grandchildren
Cullen Stakes, George
Lowman IV, Michael
Lowman, and Melissa
Lowman.
A rosary was recited
Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at 7
p.m. at Colonial Funeral
Home in Victoria. A mass
was held Wednesday, March
16, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of
Victory Cathedral, Msgr
Michael Harrold, officiating.
Burial followed at
Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the
family requests donations be
made to Our Lady of Victory
School or Holy Cross Church
in Yorktown, Texas.

Georgia Marie Marek
Buesing, age 68 of Cedar
Creek, TX passed away
Saturday, March 12, 2011 in
Austin, TX.
Georgia was born in
Caldwell, TX to George and
Milady Marek. She graduat-
ed from Caldwell High
School in 1960 and then
attended Durham Business
School. On November 24,
1962 Georgia was married to
Jerry L. Buesing in Caldwell,
TX.
During her career,
Georgia worked for the Texas
Highway Dept., the USDA

They moved to Cedar Creek,
TX and have lived there for
the past 10 years. The
Buesings were members of
Sacred Heart Catholic
Church in Rockne, TX.
Georgia is survived by her
husband of 48 years, Jerry
Buesing, of Cedar Creek,
TX; daughter, Melissa
Jackson and son-in-law
Robert of Leander, TX; and
son, Craig Buesing of Austin,
TX. Georgia has two grand-
children: Benjamin Jackson
and Makayla Buesing.
Sister, Gloria Marek Telg of
Caldwell, TX. She is pro-
ceeded in death by her par-
ents, George and Milady
Marek, brother, Donald
Marek and a brother-in-law
Charles Telg.

Church in Rockne, TX with
burial at the Sacred Heart
