Apríl birthday celebrants recognized
were Jason Pipes, Stephanie Callaway,
Robin Breitkreutz and Věrna Pavelka.
The Sunshine Committee reported
Vernon Wood had cataract surgery and
was doing fine.
Sonny Pavelka reported that he had
been contacted by Axtell FFA regard-
ing using íhe iodge. It was reported
that it had not been left in the condi-
tion that the regular cleanup crew per-
forms.
Elizabeth Kubitza made a motion
that the halí be donated, but that the
cleanup crew be paid to clean the halí
after its use. The motion was seconded
by Věrna Pavelka. The membership
approved the motion.
A motion was maae by Elizabeth
Kubitza and seconded by Sonny
Pavelka that the May Iodge meeting be
moved from the seconh Sunday to the
first Sunday. The motion carried.
Dorothy Banik suggested that our
Iodge také out an ad in the convention
book. Věrna Pavelka will cail and get
prices on a quarter page ad. Sonny
Pavelka made a motion to go ahead
and plače the ad if it is not too latě and
Florence Frazier seconded the motion.
The motion carried.
Věrna Pavelka received a call from
íhe Junior-Senior games for nursing
homebound cnildren to be held May
14th from 10:00 a.m. untii 2:00 p.m.
Sne put it in the form of a motion to
let the games be held at the Iodge and
it was seconded by Barbara Pavelka. It
was approved by our membership.
The dooř prizes were won by Char-
lene Stead for the youth, and D.E. Mil-
ner for the adults.
Easíer iiiies were won by Gene Ed-
ward Pavelka, Virlene Kelly, Robin
Breitkreutz, and Nancy Milner.
Some correspondence had been re-
ceived by the Iodge and was made
available to the membership to read.
A motion was made by Earl Milner
and seconded by Věrna Pavelka to get
the P.A. systém repaired and replaced.
The motion was approved.
Sonny Paveika reported he would be
responsibie for taking care of replac-
ing the ceiling íiles at the rear of the
stage.
There was no further new or old
business and the meeting was aa-
journed.
REMEMBER: May Iodge meeting on
May 3rd instead of May lOth.

Lodge No. 81,
Needvilie
On Sunday, April 12, 1992 thirty-
two members attended the regular
monthly meeting of Lodge No. 81. At
12:00 noon everyone enjoyed a bounti-
ful meal. Baked and fried chicken and
gravv were brought by Mary Werner
and the lodge sisters supplied a variety
of vegetables, salads, and home baked
goodies for dessert, Our thanks to all
who help make these Sunday dinners
so enjoyable.
President Adolph Macha called the
business meeting to order at 1:00 p.m.
Following the Pledge of Allegiance to
íhe flag, led by Jerry Fabrygel, mem-
bers remained standing for a moment
of silent tribute to the memory of Mar-
garet Pollock and Janie Walzel. Sin-
cere sympathy is extended to their
families.
All officers were presem. Secretary
Mary Werner read íhe minu tes of íhe
March meeting. The minutes as well as
her financial secretary’s minutes were
accepted. Thank you notes were read
from the families of Henry Mikus and
Louis Krobot. Letters of thanks were
also received from S.P.J.S.T. Rest
Home No. II and meals for Senior Citi-
zens, both located in Needvilie.
Treasurer Willie Mae KuykendalTs
financial report was presented and ap-
proved as read.
Before presenting the Speciál Fund
report Chairman Gilbert Walzel
thanked members for their prayers,
phone calls and visits because he un-
derwent spinal surgery last week. The
Speciál Fund report was accepted as
read.
We missed Sister Vlasta Nowotny
again at the meeting. She is now in
Autumn Hills at Sugarland, Texas un-
dergoing therapy following hip and
ankle surgery. Vlasta, we all hope
you’11 soon be back home in Need-
ville!
Brother Charlie Matcek recently hurí
his back in a fall, but is doing fine
now. Sister Vlasta, Brothers Matcek
and Walzel, members wish you early
recovery. We miss you when you are
absent.
Welcome to Jerry and Jo Ann
Fabrygel, transferred members to
Lodge No. 81 who were with us. We
look forward to your attending the
monthly meetings.
Under old business the Scholarship
Committee reported that some thirty
applications for Lodge No. 81 ’s schol-
arships will be delivered to Needvilie
High School.
Under new business President Macha
reported that $200.00 has been anony-
mously donated to Lodge No. 81 to be
placed in our Memoriál Fund in honor
of our deceased members. This gener-
ous and thoughtfui donation is graíe-
fully accepted by Lodge No. 81.
Sincere thanks are hereby given to our
anonymous donor.
New members received into Lodge
No. 81 are Karen Weyant, Christopher
S. Weyant, Genna Fojtik and Jacob
Dalton Wright. Congratulations to the
new members. Come join us at the
monthly meetings when possible.
The meeting next month on May 17,
1992 will put us back on the regular
scheduie of meeting on the third Sun-
day of each month. This will also hold
true in June when the meeting dáte
will coincide with Fatherbs Dav.
Sister Delores Macha brought a col-
orful jar of jelly beans to the meeting.
Everyone had the opportunity to guess
the number of jelly beans in the jar.
Winners were sisters Cheryl and
Amanda Newman who both guessed
the exact number of beans the jar con-
tained.
Winners of dooř prizes donated by
the lodge were Benita Walzel, Vincent
Joe Newman, Mary Werner and Fran-
ces Kubala. Thanks to the Frank
Brdeckas, Adolph Machas and Vincent
Newmans, Sr. for bringing additional
dooř prizes. These were won by Willie
Mae Kuykendall, Lynnette Newman,
Gilbert Walzel, Eisie Brdecka, Freida
Miller, Sophie Baethe, Edwin Susan,
Amanda Newman, and Eddie Pieper.
As mentioned earlier our regular
meeting in May will také plače on
Sunday, May 17 at 12:00 noon. After
discussion by the membership, it was
voted on to make a one time change in
the menu as folíows:
The meat will not be furnished by the
lodge. instead, íhe members will bring
a meat dish and a vegetable. Dessert
will be optional, but not necessary.
Sisters, do not panic at the thought of
bringing a meat dish. There are many
choices to choose from, such as casse-
role and pasta dishes which may even
be prepared ahead of time.
Mark your calendar now and come to
the May 17íh meeting at 12:00 noon.
Please bring a meat dish and a vegeta-
ble. Dessert is optionai.

Dear Members:
President Olson presided over last
Monday’s meeting. A moment of si-
lence was observed in memory of Sis-
ter Frances Haluzan. Our members
extend sincere sympathy.
Sister Salac read correspondence
which included a thank you from the
famiíy of Dorothy Prasifka and Fran-
ces Haluzan.
Sunshine Committee sení get well
cards to Louis Mahdak, Bessie Petr,
Bessie Houpy, Jeff Jaresh, and Joe
Vlk; sympathy card to Albert Haluzan
and family.
Entertainment Committee report was
given by Cheri Petr.
House Committee Report: Brother
Salac thanked Brother Frnka, and C.
Petr for help for dooř installation for
handicap and thanked Brother E. Petr
for mowing the lawn and Brother Scott
for hedge clipping.
Speciál Committee Report -- Sister
Salac thanked all helpers during the
bake sále at the same time President
Olson thanked all who helped with the
garage sále.
Dallas-ímnis Fraternal Council re-
port by Sister Wanda Petr said that the
council will meet May 11 at the Czech
Club.
FAC Faye Rejcek reported on dues
collected and reminded all that you
can still send yours in any time.
Youth Leader Bessie Petr reported
that the Juniors enjoyed a picnic and
egg hunt on April 11. The Teens were
meeting tonight and enjoying a pizza
party.
President Olson reminded all that the
sales representatives meet on May 7 in
Ennis at Lodge No. 25.
Living Memoriál was reported by
Sister Wanda Petr in absence of Sis-
ter Martha Mahdak, who is honey-
mooning with her new husband,
Brother Mike Frnka. Congratulations
to the newíy-weds.
May 4 -- Entertainment meeting at
6:30 p.m.
May 16 — Dance to the Centex Band
May 18 -- Our next meeting, 7:30
p.m. Piease come.
May 24 - The Dallas Czech Orches-
tra plays for dancing, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
for the package - barbecue, ranch
style beans, síaw, potato salad; the
doors open at 2:30 p.m. More details
will follow.
June 6 - The Czech Harvesters play
June 20 - Double Shot (country-west-
ern), so get your dancing boots and
western wear on for this evening of
dancing.

The Living Or Memoriál Benefit Fund
Committee Lodge No. 84, Dallas
The Living or Memoriál Benefit
Fund at Lodge No. 84 has been estab-
lished to honor and remember řriends
or ioved ones. This fund will be ušed
to assist in the needs of the lodge that
arise such as taxes, ioan paymenís on
the building and repairs to maintain
the Iodge that we all love.
