Hallettsville reports
on Apríl meeting
a coaches pitch team called the
Astros. She read a roster of the team
members, their coaches, and parents
and dates of their games.
Dear Members,
Our lodge met Sunday, Apríl 12,
2003 at the Legion Tap Room at 2
p.m. with Lillie Balusek and Jennifer
Hessler as greeters.
Vice President Annie Vahalik
called the meeting to order followed
by the Pledge of Allegiance led by
Elizabeth Vahalik and Marissa
Sustaita.
Resolution Committee Chairman
Gayenell Chudej read a resolution of
sympathy for our departed member,
Lawrence Heinsohn.
Introduced and welcomed to our
meeting were guests Leo and Joann
Jares from Lodge 8, Weimar and
Adolf and Valeria Motal from Lodge
32, Victoři a.
Secretary Mary Ann Sustaita read
the minutes to the last meeting and the
correspondence. Treasurer Helen
Zabranský gave the financial report.
Fraternal Activities Coordinator
(FAC) Annie Vahalik reported on
upcoming events and activities.
Sunshine Co-Chairman Lillie
Balusek reported that 28 residents
attended our monthly bingo at Stevens
Convalescent Center. Helpers were
Margaret Smotek and Mary Matula.
The youth club was thanked for the
book marks they made for the resi-
dents. In-room visits to Hallettsville
Rehab and Nursing Center were made
by Margaret Smotek, Mary Matula,
and Helen Zabranský.

Helen Zabranský reported that she
attended the opening day ceremony of
the Hallettsville Little League. Our
lodge was recognized for sponsoring

District Six
Spring Meeting Report
A report was made on the District
Six Spring Meeting hosted by the
Moravia lodge on Sunday, March 23.
It was very enjoyable. District offi-
cers from our lodge are President Joe
Siptak, Second Vice President/FAC
Helen Zabranský and Secretary Annie
Vahalik. Congratulations to the youth
club members who placed in the
Christmas Card Design Contest: ages
6 to 8/first plače - Jonathan Vahalik,
second plače - Sarah Siptak, third
plače - Mark Siptak; ages 9 to 1 l/sec-
ond plače - Christopher Vaněk; ages
12 to 14/first plače - Elizabeth
Vahalik; ages 15 to Senior/second
plače - Joshua Siptak.
Past Secretary Margaret Smotek
was recognized and presented a
plaque for her many years of dedícat-
ed Service to our lodge. Lifetime
Achiever awards were presented to
Margaret Smotek, Victoria Zak,
Annie Vahalik, Philip Vahalik, and
Patsy Zabranský.
Due to Motherís Day on our regu-
lar meeting dáte, the members voted
to meet Sunday, May 4.
The meeting adjoumed followed by
lunch and playing bingo. Dooř prize
winners were Raymond Sustaita, Elsie
Mascheck, Mary Ann Sustaita, and
Frank Matula. A candy-guessing game
was won by Katherine Woytek.
Next Meeting May 4
Our next meeting will be Sunday,
May 4, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Legion
Tap Room. Lunch will be served and
games played. Apríl, May, June birth-
days will be recognized.
