Notice of the change of dáte is
hereby given that we had to re-sched-
ule our monthly lodge meeting for the
month of June because most of the of-
ficers will be attending the SPJST
Convention June 14-17 in Victoria.
The SPJST Lodge No. 35 meeting
will be held FRIDAY, JUNE 12, 1992
at 7:00 p.m.; the youth club will meet
at 6:30 p.m., and RVOS meeting will

Picnic
Our Family Day sociál will be řfeld
Sunday, June 28, 1992 at the American
Legion Picnic Grounds. Registration
begins at 1:00 p.m.; meal served at
5:00 p.m. Members are asked to bring
a covered dish — salad, vegetable or
day event--nearly doubling the number
of vendors that participated in the one-
day sále this spring.
Following an abbreviated business
session, Precinct Three Commissioner
John Thomas, Jr. led discussion on
several of the pressing issues facing
residents of Bell County. Thomas, who
began by outlining the duties of the
Commissioners office, presented in-
formation on pending road construc-
tion and maintenance projects, the
effect of the Fifth Mechanized Divi-
sion coming to Fort Hood, juvenile
crime in Bell County, and the pro-
posed "bullet train." Our appreciation
to Commissioner Thomas for a very
eníightening presentation and to our
members and guests for their spirited
input on these timely topics.
Melanie Zavodny capped the pro-
gram with an inspiring talk on frater-
nalism. Melanie will be representing
District II in the Miss SPJST competi-
tion at the upcoming convention in
Victoria.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:30
p.m. Dooř prizes were won by Willis
Green, Wilbert Mikeska, Dorothy
Richter and Paulině Wilde. Our next
meeting will be June 8 at 7:00 p.m.

Lodge No. 25, Ennis
Brother Kenneíh Honza led the
pledge. A moment of silence was held
for deceased member Woríh Benton.
New members were accepted to the
lodge, námely: Geraldine Nekuza,
Jodie Nekuza, JoAnn Trojacek, Sharon
Cepak and Arlene Honza.
President Linda Trojacek has a biríh-
day this month.
Congratulations to Sister Kaye Lynn
Kovar who has received her Masíers
degree in Public Administration after
completing her thesis on the SPJST
Fraternal Society.
Congratulations also go to those who
are receiving the SPJST scholarships,
námely: Candy Mach, Stephanie
Hroza, Sharon Rejcek, Shannon Schu-
macher and Patrick Dolezalik.
Lodge No. 25 sponsored an organ-
ized effort by a íocal group of Girl
Scouts of America to help out a sister
organization of scouts in Czechoslova-
kia. The money donated was ušed to
pay postage for items gathered by the
Girl Scouts of America.
DANCE: June 6 at Lodge No. 25 --
In 1962, the Vrážel Polka Band played
at Lodge No. 25 for the first time.
Come share the memories. A meal will
be served at 6:30 p.m. and dancing be-
gins at 8:30 p.m. We hope to háve a
good crowd.

Dear Members:
Since the monthly meeting Sunday,
June 7th will be the last monthly meet-
ing before the SPJST Convention,
there will be a short discussion on the
proposed changes in the By-íaws as
printed in the May 13th Vestnik issue.
Also, Father’s Day is on June 21 st so,
fathers will be honored in this meet-
ing. The agenda will be kept short with
those items needing immediate action
belng considered. The meeting will
start at 2:00 p.m. in the room at 106
Leveridge Street.
The fraternal hour luncheon will
háve more than the catch-as-catch-can
food normally present because it was
approved by the membership present
to let the lodge furnish some of the
food this time.
On May 3rd, the meeting convened
on time with a goodly quorum present.

Fifty-year members will be honored.
Games will be held, dooř prizes given
and fun for all.
We will be looking for you!

Lodge 47, Seaton Star Halí, will be
holding its annual picnic on June 7,
1992. We wish to také this time to in-
vite all of our members and friends to
please come out and help us enjoy this
time of fellowship and fun. We will
háve food, games, an auction, music,
dance and sociál games for all to
enjoy. Also, this year, we will háve
arts and crafts booths. So please mark
your calendars for a fun day at Seaton
Star Halí, Lodge 47. To all the ladies,
please bring sheet cakes for the dessert
or any item for the sweet booth or auc-
tion. Everything will be deeply appre-
ciated. There will be a FREE DANCE
starting around 8:00 p.m., with music
provided by "THE TEXANS." So be
sure to "Put on your dancing shoes!"

Lodge No. 54, West
Everyone is reminded of the second
quarterly meeting of Lodge No. 54,
West to be held at 7:30 p.m. at Lone
Star Halí on Friday, June 5th. A dinner
will be held in recognition of our 50-
year members. These members are en-
couraged to invite their family
members to this speciál occasion. Pic-
tures will be taken for publication in
the Vestnik and 50-year pins will be
awarded.
Sisters of our lodge are asked to
bring desserts but the meal and the
drinks will be provided by our lodge.
Leťs all come out and join in this
happy occasion and congratulate our
50-year members.

Lodge No. 40,
El Campo-Hillje
The regular monthly meeting of our
Lodge No. 40 was called to order after
our sociál games. President Rita Vaněk
led the members in the Pledge of Alle-
giance, followed by a moment of silent
prayer for our deceased members and
sick members and, especially for Lil-
lian Marek and Johnnie E. Kotlář who
passed away since our last meeting.
Secretary Leona Macha called roli of
officers, all were present except
Trustee James Bacak.
The minutes of the April 20, 1992
meeting were approved as read.
Correspondence received during the
month were read from:
1. Letter from Daryl Wendel thank-
ing our lodge for sponsorship to Boys
State.
2. Acknowledgments from SPJST
Scholarship Fund for memorials to Al-
fred Kovar and Frank Parma.
3. Thank you notě from Frank J.
Parma family for our memoriál gift to
SPJST Scholarship Fund.
4. A letter from President Howard
Leshikar announcing that Kim Kacal
was chosen as a 1992-93 SPJST schol-
arship winner of $500.00.
Vice President Bennie Reck reported
that he attended awards’ presentation
at El Campo High School to present
our four $300.00 scholarships to Kim
Kacal, Danny Borak, Wayne Socha
and Anthony Balcar.
FAC Dora Lee Kopecký reminded
members of Family Day to be held on
Sunday, June 28th at 2:00 p.m. at
American Legion Picnic Grounds.
The meeting adjourned with Made-
line Shimek winning the doořprize.

Dear Members:
Our regular monthly meeting was
called to order by President Jim Locke
at 2:30 p.m.
Flags were presented by Sandra
Trickett and Alicia Neslony. The
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Jesika
Tierce and SPJST Youth Pledge by
Justin Engelke.
All officers were present.
Secretary Bonnie Pruitt read the min-
utes of our previous meeting and they
were approved. She also read corre-
spondence from Robert Kofnovec who
was not able to come and receive his
50-year pin.
Sister Darlene Engelke read a thank
you notě from the St. Catherine Cen-
ter, the Annie Hanuš family, and
SPJST Lodge No. 200.
Minutes of the board of trustees’
May meeting were read and approved.
Sister Luciile Červenka gave the En-
tertainment Committee report. They
will serve cold cuts for our June 21 st
meeting and members are asked to
bring desserts. We will also honor the
fathers.
