Dear Readers,
Our last meeting was held August
lOth. Next month we will háve our
annual dance. The theme is the
“Country Hoedown Dance.” It will be
held September 6th from 9 p.m. to 1
a.m., with music by Jodíe Mikula.
In the kitchen we will be serving
klobáse sandwiches and coffee. You all
be sure and come. You will háve a
swinging time.
Everybody from Lodge No. 130 who
entered something in YAD won at least
first plače and will be representing
District III in Temple.
Everyone had a great time at Camp
Val Yerde. The weather was nice and
cool. The water in the river was cool but
felt good. The water was low but we
could still canoe. In crafts we made
pendlholders by weaving white plastic
strips. In archery we learned how to
load the arrows on to the bow, and if you
hit the bull’s eye you got a free cold
drink. We got to go horseback riding
two tímes. We went through the river
and the forest. Galloping on the horses
was fun. Swimming was a relief. The
water was cool and felt good. We had a
beauty contest at the swimming pool.
The categories were most graceful,
most far-out and funky, and weirdest.
One person from each cabin had to
enter. The parties on the tennis court
were fun. We danced Amos Moses and
Little Black Book. We played a lot of
games too.
I want to thank Mr. Kamas and Mrs.
Massey and the counselors and leaders
for making Camp Val Verde the best!
