—Photos must communicate the theme “Volunteerism: Joiňing Hands to
Touch Li ves.”
—Photos may be black & white oř in color; a minimum of 3”x5” to a maximum
of 18”x20”, no slides will be accepted.
—Only amateur photographers can compete.
—Only one entry per person will be accepted.
—Deadline for lodges to submit entry is May 1.
—Photos will not be returned and become the property of SPJST/NFCA.
—Registration form must be included with entry.

this speciál time in our state’s history.

tradition of the SPJST this celebration
has been designed to be a festival for
the entire family, featuring activities
for all ages and all cultural
backgrounds within our organization.
We want to celebrate our heritage and
the contributions of our ancestors to
Texas and also strengthen the fraternal
ties which enable our Society to grow

Meeting Location
The host lodge and location of our
District 1 spring meeting was changed
from Lodge 186, Caldwell to Lodge 9,
Snook because the facilities were
rented previously. Members,
remember that Lodge 9 in Snook will
host this meeting Sunday, April 27th.

Lodge 18, Elgin
March Meeting
Lodge Jan Žižka No. 18 in Elgin
held its monthly meeting March 18,
1986 with 26 members in attendance.
President Roy Simank opened the
meeting. The Pledge of Allegiance was
led by Brother Rueben Krieg.
Roli call of officers showed all
present except Youth Leader Curtis
Young.
The minutes from our February
meeting were approved as řéad. This
was followed by reports from various
officers and chairpersons.
A sad feeling was experienced by all
while we spent a moment of silence for
our deceased Sister Peggy Feífe. She
will be missed by all; her smile and
cheerfulness were always a pleasant
sight. We express our sorrow to her
husband, Floyd, and the rest of the
family.
We congratulate the officers who
were elected to District II and
especially our own Brother Leslie
Gustafsonpvho was elected second vice
president.
We hope everyone enjoyed their visit
to our lodge. The event was a great
success and we thank everyone who
had a hand in making it a success.
