Lodge 32, Victoria
plans Polka Fest
Our Christmas party in December,
2004, was a great success. Everyone
enjoyed the meal. We had 41 mem-
bers and guests to attend the party.
The lodge members voted to give
$100 to the SPJST 100 Pennies
Scholarship Fund Drive and also to
donate to the Gladys Yates
Endowment Fund.
The lodge members decided to put
our old books of our lodge in the
SPJST Library, Archives, and
Museum in Temple.
We had the installation of officers
at the January, 2005, meeting.
We would like to remind everyone
of our Polka Fest coming up on
February 27 at Inez Halí. Music will
be by Bobby Jones and the Vrazels
Band. We will also háve a silent auc-
tion at the Polka Fest. Members need
to be thinking of their donations. We
will háve kolaches for sále. You can
háve a bowl of good stew for lunch if
you come early.
We will háve our next meeting on
Tuesday, February 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the
Texas Seafood Express, located on
Sam Houston, close to Victoria High
School.
Birthday months are January,
February, and March. We will háve a
birthday cake at our February meeting.
We had our books audited by
Vlasta Svoboda, Doris Elsik, and
Mary Tijerina. All were in good
standing.

improvements
We met at Elk Halí on Sunday,
January 9, 2005, at 3:15 p.m. with
President Randy Pavelka presiding.
The Pledge of Allegiance was
recited by everyone. A moment of
silence was held in memory of Kathy
Kubitza and Frances Česka.
There were no sick members
reported.
Secretary Carla Pavelka gave her
report, and it was approved.
Treasurer Barbara Pavelka gave her
report which was good.
Fifty-year pins will be sent to May
Dell Sulak and Fonnie Anderson.
The chairman thanked all who
helped with the New Year’s Eve
dance since it was really busy. We
need volunteers any time, and you do
not need to be asked. We thank all
who háve pitched in to help with
cleaning up the halí, also.
Painting some of the halí was dis-
cussed and repairing the roof. We
seem to keep having some leaks.
Those attending had some good
hamburgers for supper.
Our next meeting is Sunday,
February 13 at 3 p.m.
