DISTRICT FIVE—Director Hanuš requested the Home Office to ask all mem-
bers that belong to lodges with building to support the efforts to háve the local
lodges exempt from ad valorem taxes.
DISTRICT SEVEN—Director Bayer reported both the Lodge 161, Jourdanton
and Lodge 79, Corpus Christi want to start a youth program. He also reported
Lodge 107, Floresville is soon to begin refurbishing their lodge halí.
DISTRICT SIX—Chairman Vaněk requested the officers to come up with a fig-
uře for the approximate size of a lodge halí where only meetings wili be held.
Lodge 19, Velehrad was chartered in 1897 and purchased the land from Velehrad
School to build a lodge building. The Velehrad School is erecting a historical
markér, which costs $950.00. The Velehrad School has raised $600.00 and
would like some assistance from the SPJST Home Office. Chairman Vaněk is to
find the information on the markér as to whether or not it would include SPJST
Lodge 19, Velehrad and then a decision would be made about the financial help.
Chairman Vaněk moved, seconded by Director Krizan for the Home Office to
háve a stafř meeting once a month and to install a suggestion box. The sugges-
tion box is to be opened once a month and reported back at the staff meeting the
answers to the questions. Motion carried unanimously.
The next meeting will begin Apríl 13,1999 at 8:30 a.m.
Director Klinkovsky moved, seconded by Vice President Mikeska to adjourn the
meeting at 4:55 p.m.

spring meeting agenda
All members of District Five lodges
and their guests are invited to attend
the District Five Spring Meeting set for
March 7, 1999. The meeting wilí be
hosted by Lodge 88, Houston, iocaíeá
at 1435 Beall Street in Houston.
A dinner -and sociál will top the
agenda from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., fol-
lowed by the meeting at 1 p.m. Roast
beef with all the trimmings wili be
served for a very good price of $4 for
adult plate and $2.50 per children’s
plate.
We are asking all members to bring
their speciál pastry. We also ask that
the lodges and members bring items
for bingo and dooř prizes. We will
play bingo again because everyone
seemed to enjoy this activity before.
We are inviting everyone to our memo-
riál Service, especially those whose
loved one(s) passed away during 1998.
ín addition, all 50-, 75-year members
and paid-up 96 year-old members are
cordially invited. Local lodge
Fraternalists of the Year for 1998 will
also be presented.
Leťs all come out and bring a guest
or friend and enjoy a good day of fel-
lowship with our fraterna! brothers and
sisters.
