Saturday, August 9 is the annual State Youth Achievement
Day. This day features crafts, speciál category, individual
and group talents, beseda dance, and youth club scrapbooks
and posters. The day ivill also include the State King and
State Queen contest and the crowning of the 2003-2004
SPJST State Royalty.

mends that you begin your day here.
Master Blaster is the ride, so get in line
early.
Directions to Blastenhauf: Také
Exit 189 in New Braunfels. Tum right
onto Highway 46. Také a left on
Common Street. Také a left at the first
light on Common Street. This is
Union Street. Continue down this
Street approximately three blocks (stay
in left lané). Tum right at the white
gate. Blastenhauf will be on your left
and Surfenburg is on the right.
Please be at the Blastenhauf gate no
later than 9:30 p.m. to piek up your tick-
ets. For those wishing to caravan down,
Patsy will be leaving from the SPJST
Home Office in Temple at 7 a.m.
Youth Leaders: Please give a count
and all monies to Patsy by August 10.
We will také additions up until Friday,
August 15, but prefer to háve as many
pre-ordered as possible. Make checks
payable to SPJST District Two Camp
Fund.

Five Fall Meeting! The day will
begin at 11:30 a.m. at Lodge 196,
Houston-West, 17810 Huffmeister
Road, Cypress, Texas.
Pian now to attend the fall meeting.
We promise you an exciting fun-filled
evening with your friends. Start get-
ting our tarok and domino partners
together and bring them with you. We
will háve bingo and a moonwalk for
the children. All you ladies will be
able to show your cooking expertise
with your side dishes to complete a
delicious fried chicken lunch.
Chicken will be fumished by the diš-
trict.
Ladies, please enter the cake con-
test. Bring your recipe with the cake,
and remember, all cakes must be
made from scratch. (No box cakes.)

readying for fifth
annual barbecue
cookoff and games
SPJST District Six hosts its Fifth
Annual Barbecue Cookoff on Friday
and Saturday, September 12 and 13,
2003. Organizers invite all interested
cookers and funseekers to mark these
days on their calendar and join them
at SPJST Lodge 40, El Campo-Hillje.
Friday and Saturday. The lodge is
easily accessible from Highway 59.
Cookoff activities get underway on
Friday evening with DJ music from 8
p.m. until 12 a.m.
Come out on Saturday and see the
spectacular pits and taste the prize-
winning barbecue! There will also be
food and drink concessions, arts and
crafts booths, a prize drawing and var-
ious games, including the wheel of
fortuně. Family activities begin at 10
a.m.
For booth rental information,

2532. For barbecue cookoff informa-
tion, call Gíenn Sczech, after 5 p.m.
(979) 543-3179. Deadline for cookoff
is September 5, 2003.
The barbecue cookoff proceeds will
