Expression
of Sympathy
We, the members of the Resolution
Committee of Lodge 48, Beyersville,
Texas, on behalf of our membership,
wish to express our deepest and most sin-
cere sympathy to the family of our
departed sister,
FRANCES MARESH
of Taylor, Texas, who died at the
S.P.J.S.T. Rest Home in Taylor on
Monday, June 10, 1996, at the age of 96
years.
She was a 75-
year member of
SPJST, having
joined Lodge 48
in 1921. She was
active in lodge
functions for
many years and
recently received a
speciál pin to rec-
ognize her years
of Service.
She was also a
lifelong member of Taylor Brethren
Church, where she was a Czech Bible
class teacher, secretary of the Mutual Aid
Society for more than 20 years, and
active in the Christian Sisters.
Sister Frances was born February 6,
1900, in Cyclone, Texas, the daughter of
Philip and Anna Fojt Stasney. She
attended public schools in Content, Lost
Prairie, and Seaton. In 1921, she was
married to John W. Maresh. They farmed
in the Taylor area until his death in May,
1973.
She is survived by a daughter, Leona
Stalmach of Taylor; two grandsons and
their wives, Bruče and Cissy Stalmach of
Taylor and John and Linda Stalmach of
Corpus Christi; and three great-grand-
daughters, Stefanie Stalmach of Dallas,
Amy Stalmach of Taylor and Stacie
Stalmach of Fort Worth.
Services were conducted at 2 p.m.
Thursday, June 13 at Taylor Brethren
Church with the Rev. James Hejl and the
Rev. Daniel Marek officiating.
Burial was in the Taylor City
Cemetery.
May our departed sister rest in eternal
peace and her memory remain among us
forever.

Resolution
of Sympathy
We, the members of the Resolution
Committee of Lodge Slavonic Linden
No. 66, Waco, Texas, on behalf of our
membership, wish to express our deepest
and sincere sympathy to the family of our
departed brother,
JAMES EDWARD PAVELKA
of Hallsburg who died Tuesday, June 25,
1996, at the age of 60 years.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Friday,
June 28, 1996, at Littlepage Funeral
Home in Mart with the Rev. Ken Young
and the Rev. Mona Dunkin officiating.
Burial took plače in Pavelka Cemetery.
Brother James was a retired Air Force
Tech Sergeant who served in Vietnam.
He worked as an automotive mechanic in
Hallsburg. He was a 50-year member of
SPJST.
Survivors include his wife, Věrna
Pavelka of Hallsburg; three sons, Aaron
Pavelka and Dwayne Pavelka of
Houston, and Herbert Pavelka of Bryan;
one stepson, David Palm of Conway,
South Carolina; two daughters, Elizabeth
Spears of Mart and Katherine Bezdek of
Waco; two sisters, Estelle Carter of
Newman, Georgia, and Lydia Federwisch
of Kingsport, Tennessee; and 14 grand-
children.
May our departed brother rest in
peace.

Expression
of Sympathy
We, the members of the Resolution
Committee on behalf of our membership
of Lodge 6, Cottonwood, wish to
express our deepest and most sincere
sympathy to the family of our departed
brother,
DOUGLAS (DOUG) UPTMOR
of Elm Mott, Texas, who died Friday,
July 5,1996, at the age of 36.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m.
Monday, July 8 at the Aderhold Funeral
Home Chapel by the Rev. Isidore
Rozycki.
Mass of Christian Burial was ceiebrat-
ed at 10 a.m. July 9 at St. Martin’s
Catholic Church in Tours, with the Rev.
Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial ťol-
lowed at St. Mary’s Cemetery near West.
Mr. Uptmor was born January 31,
1960, in Waco, the son of Aubrey and
Rose Uptmor. He attended West schools
and was a 1978 graduate of West High
School. He worked for Certain-Teed in
Waco for several years until 1990. He
then worked for Johnson Cabinet
Company in Valley Mills for the past four
years. He was a member of St. Martin’s
Catholic Church in Tours and a member
of the SPJST Lodge 6 in Cottonwood.
He enjoyed racing cars and going to car
shows.
He is survived by two daughters,
Kimberly Ann Uptmor and Sheena
Denise Uptmor, both of Northcrest; his
parents, Aubrey and Rose Uptmor oťElm
Mott; one brother, Darrell Uptmor of
Austin; one sister, Debbie Ivy of Leroy;
and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dwayne Uptmor,
Buck Uptmor, Ronnie Grones, Paul
Uptmor, David Dobecka, and Bobby
Uptmor.
Memorials may be made to his daugh-
ter ’s scholarship fund.
May our departed brother rest in eter-
nal peace and may his memory remain
among us forever.
