District Four Fun Day September 26
Everyone is inviíed to attend tne
District Four Fun Day on September
26, 1998, at the Knights of Columbus
Halí, located at 200 Easí Reiman in
Seymour. ít is one block east of L&M
Ford Dealership.
Registration begins aí 10 a.m. with a
baked goods contest from 11:15 a.m. to
11:30 a.m. Anyone can enter cakes,
pies, and koiaches.
Lunch will be served aí 12 noon. At
1 p.m., we will háve a quilt contest,
handiwork contest and a horseshoe
toumament. Aí 1:30 p.m., we will háve
bingo. We are looking forward to see-
ing everyone for íhis day of fellowship.

District Five Fail Meeting September 19
The District Five planning meeting
was August 11, 1998, at Lodge 88,
Houston. The meeting was caíled to
order at 7:30 p.m. by President Evelyn
Mikeska. Evelyn thanked Johnníe and
Ciara Brož for getting everything ready
for the meal. Alt was enjoyed.
Our District Five Fun Day is
pianned for September 19, 1998. This
is a Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The short meeting is from 11:30 a.m.
to 12 p.m. A covered disb dinner will
be served at noon. So please bring
your favorite dish and a pasíry. The
meat will be furnished by the district.
Dooř prizes totaling $200 will be
furnished by the district: two aí $25
each and 15 at $10 each. There will be
crafts, needlework, koiaches, painting,
handicrafts, horseshoes, and volleyball.
Won’í you make plans to enter at leasf
one of these categories? The youth
will háve booths and display their
Christmas ornamenís. Bingo will be
lots of fun to play. So bring some
bingo prizes.
Circle your calendar for our Fall
Fun Day on September 19, 1998, from
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. aí Lodge 88. Watch

Lodge 17, New Tábor
to participate in
Kolache Festival
New Tábor SPJST members will
once again be participating in the annu-
ai Kolache Festival held in downtown
Caldweil on Saíurday, September 12th.
The youth club will be selling
SPJST lOOth Anniversary Cookbooks,
tarok cards and CDs and cassette íapes
of Czech music performed by Richard
Urbis. They will be set up at
Vy chopen’s Drv Good Store on the
square (next to the barber shop) along
with the SPJST Museum.
Lodge No. 17 will be sponsoring the
beer booth at the Old Theater
Marketplace on Buck Street. They will
also háve a food booth serving barbe-
cue sandwiches, wrap-a-rounds, and
síuffed baked potatoes. Soft drinks,
iemonade, tea and bottled water will
also be sold. Both of these booths will
also be open on Friday night at the
Kolache Festival Kick-Off Party.
Music at the Old Theater Marketplace
will be provided by Chris Rybak.
Come out and support the fund-rais-
ing efforts of the New Tábor SPJST at
the Kolache Festival in Caldweil.
They weather might be hot, but the
beer will be cold.

Lodge 18, Elgin
reports on August
meeting
Dear Members,
Members of Lodge 18 met on
August 18th at the lodge home.
The meeting was called by the
President. The pledge to the flag and a
prayer for all of our brothers and sisters
was said at the beginning of the meeting.
The minutes were read and correct-
ed. Reports were made by the commit-
tees and were approved.
Brother Andrew Greinert was voted
by the members to be a trustee.
Brother Jack Eschberger read the
minutes of the trustees’ meetings.
Other items brought to the attention
of the members was the fall District
Two meeting aí Lake Belton on
September 20th and the copies of the
Rul es and By-Laws to be reviewed.
For all workers, there will be a fish
fry dinner and sociál held on
September 25th starting at 6 p.m. at the
lodge home. Háve a good month.

pians fun fail schedule
Dear Members and Friends,
Summer is coming to a close and
Lodge 24, Cyclone is gearing up for
lots of fall fun.
Texas Fall Gala October 24
Texas Fall Gala is Saturday, October
24 at Flag Halí in Cyclone. The
evening will be filled with lots of fun
and excitement and we want you to be
a part of it. A $50 íicket admits two
peopíe. The fun begins with hors
ďoeuvres aí 6 p.m., foliowed by a bar-
becue dinner catered by Cyclone
Corral at 6:45 p.m. After dinner, local
band Morriscode will play for the
evening’s dance. Refreshments will be
served throughout the evening. To top
all this, lots of fabulous dooř prizes
will be awarded. Please pian to be at
Flag Halí Saturday evening, October
24 for a really great time. Get your
tickets today from active Lodge 24
members. We Iook forward to seeing

Halloween Masquerade Bal!
Flag Halí hosts a Halloween
Masquerade Balí on Saturday, October
31, and you’re invited! The band
Morriscode will play for your listening
and dancing pleasure. Food and bever-
ages will also be available.
Garage Sále and Barbecue Cookoff
Make plans to attend or reserve your
space for the BIG Countywide Garage
Sále held in conjunction with the Fifth
Annual SPJST Lodge 24, Cyclone
Barbecue Cookoff on Saíurday,
November 7 at Flag Halí in Cyclone.
Indoor booth spaces are only $15. To
reserve your space, please contací
LaVerne Cabla at (254) 985-2354 or
Pat Šebek at (254) 778-1582. Vendors
can set up shop Friday evening,
November 6. A chili dinner will be
available on Friday evening starting at
5 p.m. The fun evening includes
karaoke from 8 p.m. to 12 midnight.
On Saturday, breakfast and a noon
meal will be available. The Cyclone
barbecue cookoff is the finál city in the
1998 C.T.B.A. Quad-Cities Cookoff.
Traphies and prize monev will be
awarded. There are a lot of great
cooks out there and we want you to
