Reports on
May Meeting
Our meeting was calied to order by
our President Johnnie Krizan. The
pledge was led by the youth club and said
by all.
Our secretary Barbara Hykel was not
present but al! the minutes were read and
approved.
Sister Schuetz presented her report
about the youth activities.
We had three scholarships awarded to
Salisa Jaynes, Tori Straten, and Leslie
Beseda.
We had 23 members present and one
guesí. Cl i ni e Mae Davis.
The S5 plus gift was won by Peggy
Dobecka; the $10 dooř prizes were won
by Robert Dobecka Brian Anderson (not
present); and the $1 dooř prize was won
by Tam i Bellville (not present).
Birthdays in May were for Marie
Prunkett and Ruth Krizan.
Our next meeting will be June 2.

Invites Members
to Family Sociál
The Granger SPJST Lodge 20 held
their monthiy meeting on May 6, 1996.
We had a good attendance and were
honored to háve two speciál guests,
Supreme Lodge President Howard
Leshikar and State Fraternal Activities
Coordinator Frank Klinkovsky.
Our next meeting which will be held
on June 3 at 7 p.m. will be followed by a
family sociál. Our lodge will furnish the
sausage and cold cuts. Members are
asked to bring chips, dips or sweets.
Drinks wili also be furnished.
The meeting was adjourned and every-
one enjoyed reťreshments and ťellowship.
We invite all our members to our fami-
ly sociál on June 3 at our lodge halí.

Dear Members,
A rcminder: The June meeting oť
Lodge Karel Jonas will be held this
Sundav, June 2 at 2 p.m. in the meeting
room on the ground lloor of the SPJST
Hal i building at 106 Leveridge Street.
The dáte was reset to the First Sundav
because of the SPJST Convention which
starts on the secona Sundav, June 9.
There is nothing speciál on the agenda
except the remembrance of Father’s Day.
As to the faře for the fraternal hour
buťfet luncheon, it will be standard or
bring what you wish to.

Lodge 29, Taylor
Reports on
May Meeting
SPJST Lodge 29, Taylor held its
monthiy meeting Sunday, May 19 at 4
p.m. with President Ronnie Rieger pre-
siding. Janet Kaiser read the minutes and
gave the treasureťs report. She also gave
a report on the May Fete which was a
great success. í would like to thank all
the lodge members for all their hard work
and also everyone who came out to enjoy
the day at our lodge.
New members accepted into the lodge
were Timothy Kaiser. Jo Ann
Leyendecker, John Valis, John Perkins,
and Travis Lalla.
Our lodge float won first plače in the
Lodge 29, Taylor Float

Albin Machu made a motion to update
the float for next year when the SPJST
will be ceiebrating its lOOth anniversary.
The motion carried.
On June 1, we will be doing a caíering
job for a wedding. Any help you can
give will be greatly appreciated.
Dooř prizes were won by Edith
Shiller, Martha Wagner, and Homer
Sakewitz.
The next meeting will be Friday night,
June 7 at 7 p.m. The meeting dáte was
changed because of the delegates going
to the convention.
The meeting was adjourned.

Lodge 32, Victoria
Annual Cook-Out
Wednesday, June 5
Our June meeting will be held in con-
junction with our annual cook-out at
DuPont Park on Wednesday, June 5. We
will háve a short sociál beginning at 6
p.m. and eat at 6:30 p.m. The lodge will
furnish hamburgers, hot dogs, chips,
beans and drinks. Fach member is asked
to bring a side dish oť your choice.
Please cali Kaíhy Ahlstrom if you pian to
attend at 578-3279.
We would like for everyone to come
out and join us. . . we just need to know
how many to cook for. If I am not home,
just ieave me a message and í will see
you at the park!
We wish a speedy recovery to John
Motal who recently had heart surgery in
Houston. He is to come home this week
and we want him and his family to know
our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Lodge 38, Kovar
Reports on
May Meeting
The Kovar SPJST Lodge 38 held their
monthiy meeting on May 5, 1996, at 2
p.m. in the Kovar Halí. All members are
invited to these meetings which are held
the first Sunday of each month at 2 p.m.
in the halí.
President Johnnie Janek opened the
meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance to
the flag.
Joe Sulak read the minutes from our
last meeting and they were approved.
Two oť our members had passed away,
Lillian Vinklarek and Annie Mary Palla.
We stood and had a siient prayer for
them.
Three of our members will receive
pins for 50 years of membership to the
lodge. They are August Mediena,
Minnie Mediena, and Wilbert Palla. We
pian to give these pins to the members on
June 2 at the Kovar Annual Reunion.
The meeting was then adjourned.

Invites Members and
Friends to Picnic on
Sunday, June 2
Lodge 47, Seaton Picnic is Sunday,
June 2, 1996. This is an invitation to all
members and friends to come out and
enjoy the day with us as we will háve live
music, games, food sweet booth, and an
auction at 5 p.m.
I would like to remind our lodge mem-
bers that we are asking for donations for
our auction and desserts for the noon
meal and the sweets booth. Whatever
you donate will be greatly appreciated.

Sunday, June 2,1996
A reminder to all lodge members that
we need your delicious baked goods and
canned goods for the Sweets Booth at our
picnic. Cakes, pies, kolaches, cookies,
canned tru its, jeli ies, and fresh vegetables
are always in demand.
Also, if anyone would be willing to
work for one hour in the booth, please
contact me at 778-5607. Any help will
be greatly appreciated.

Invites You to Picnic
on Sunday, June 2
Dear Readers,
If you háve Sunday, June 2 with noth-
ing to do, why not také the family out for
a fun time. Seaton Star Halí is the plače,
A meal oť barbecue beef and chicken
with al! the trimmings plus dessert and
tea or coťfee will be served for the norni-
nal price of $5. Plates to go will also be
available beginning at 11 a.m. until sold
out.
Bingo and games for the children will
begin at 1 p.m. and the sweets booth will
be selling pastries of all types until sold
out.
Music by Charles Mikeska ’s Band and
Charlie Klepac’s Band will provide live
entertainment during the day. Plenty of
good cold drinks will be available. The
auction will begin at 5 p.m. until all items
are disposed of.
You see, you will be entertained for a
good part oť that day. Come early and
stav latě! Plenty of parking is available.
See you at Seaton Star Halí on
Sunday. June 2, 1996, from 11 a.m. until
? Come see your old friends and make
some new ones, too. Hope we háve a
good rain before then!
