Czech Culture Society dinner is
March 31 at Sokol on Greenville at 7
p.m. the Dallas-Ennis Fraternal
Council meets April 14 at the Czech
Club with KJZT and KJT as hosts.
January 19, during our dance, Brother
Lodge 142, Houston
reports on
Jerry and Sister Joan Manak donated
many, many packages of wrapped
assorted meat and bacon to be given
during a prize drawing during inter-
mission at that dance. To these two
generous members, we say thank you.
Our donation was appreciated and
made many folks who won—(I
didn’t)—happy bringing home the
bacon. Thanks again! Also thank
you, Sister Cheri Petr for the kitchen
and stage items donated. Your
thoughtful gesture is appreciated.
To celebrate our 93rd anniversary,
honor our 50-year members and fra-
temalist of the year, the lodge hosted a
free fried chicken dinner and dance on
Sunday, April 6.. Doors opened at 12
with dinner served from 12:30 to 2
p.m. A short meeting and awards fol-
lowed. Afterwards, from 3 to 6 p.m.,
there was a free dance with music by
the Dallas Czech Concert Orchestra.
The members of Lodge 84 wel-
come Brother Raymond Seblik who
transferred to our lodge also Sister
Bessie Tydlaska came to our meeting
and it was good to see her. Hope this
is a start that will continue.
A committee meeting called by
President Yeager is on April 10 at 6:30
p.m. We would like to háve all who
can to attend. Also, Our May 17
dance will háve the Vanek’s Polka
Band to dance to.

Lodge 93, Hobson
reports on
March meeting
President E. R. Prásek called the
Lodge 93 SPJST meeting to order by
everyone being thanked for coming.
He also led the Pledge of Allegiance
on March 20, 2003 at 7 p.m.
The minutes were read and
approved as read. The treasurer gave
the treasurer’s report.
Old business was the discussion of
cost of food for the members at the
meeting. After a discussion, a motion
was made and seconded that the lodge
pay for the food.
We need to think about different
charities we can donate to. The min-
utes are to be sent to the Home Office
to get recognition that a meeting was
held. Also, there is a change of the
plače for the meeting. ít is held at
Palak’s between Kenedy and Karnes
City.
The scholarship applications as
given for approval to Dorthy Franta,
Sally Foegelle, and Ruth Prásek.
The incentive check was given to
the treasurer.
The meeting was adjoumed.
Dooř prizes were awarded which
March meeting
On Sunday, March 9, 2003,
President Keith Kieschnick called our
meeting to order at 2 p.m. We had 26
members present. All stood for the
Pledge of Allegiance. Roli call of
officers showed Fraternal Activities
Coordinator Amy Kieshnick and
Board member Chuck Whitchurch
were absent.
Secretary Alice Jochen read the
previous month minutes which were
accepted as read. All correspondence
was read.
All officers and committees reports
were read.
We had no new applicants.
New Business
Discussion was held in regards to
the incentive award monies our lodge
received and how we intend to dis-
burse this. Nancy Whitchurch took
the fioor and spoke on our upcoming
barbecue cookoff—to háve at least
nine teams and háve much fun at our
lodge on Friday and Saturday, March
28 and 29.
It was discussed to háve" our
Christmas party at our lodge on
Saturday, December 6, 2003.
If anyone is interested to become a
sales rep, please contact Keith
Kieschnick or Lynn Johnsen to set up
classes at Lodge 88.
The capsule prize of $70 went
unclaimed due to the absence of
Crystal McDonald, AsMey Richard
and Henry Gene Linhart. Next month,
the prize goes to $80. Come to our
meeting. You could be the lucky one!
Five cash prizes went to Robert
Kieschnick, Barbara Boyd, Nancy
WhitchuVch, Dorothy Tumis, and
Elmo Walther. Four refreshment
prizes went to Mary Ann Kieschnick,
Henry Hermis, Frank Tumis, and
Rosie Schilhab.
Birthdays for March are Rosie
Tumis, Sidon Tumis, and Nelson
Jochen.
The meeting adjoumed at 3:30 p.m.
A delicious lunch, desserts, and
refreshments were served and enjoyed
by all.
