SPJST Student Scholarship. She has
been m SPJST member since infancy
and was acíive in the youth dub,
serving in diřferent offices. In 1980-81
she served as SPJST State Queen along
with Terry Loessin who is also a
member of Lodge No. 20. Kelly
graduates ironu the University oř Texas
in Austin in May and pians to ester
iaw school in the řalS.
Mandy Lena Mikulencak, daughter of
Loretta S. Mikulencak and the latě
Joseph F. Mikulencak, was chosen as a
recipient of the $500 SPJST
Scholarship. Mandy was a member of
the Lodge 20 Youth Club for 11 years
and served as the 1982-83 SPJST
Queen. She is currently attending
Texas Á&M University and is
majoring in Broadcast Journaiism.
Věra Roepke, Lodge 20 President, is

Czech Heritage
Festival
The Czech Heritage Society of
South Texas presents for the first time
a Czech Heritage Festival on Saturday,
March 2, 1985 at the Corpus Christi
Bayfront Plaza Exhibit Halí from 11
a.m. to 12 p.m.; expect to be
entertained all day by Czech chorál
groups, folk dancers, Sokol gymnasts
and two Czech bands playing polka
and waltz music.
Everyone will háve an opportunity
to examine cultural displays and
browse through booths offering Czech
kolache, Czech music selections,
Czech cookbooks and much, much
more.
In addition to the day’s festivities, a
“Parade of Costumes” precedes an
evening of oldtime dance music until
midnight; the admission will be $2.

Conversational Czech
Courses A t TJC
The Continuing Education Division
of Temple Junior College is offering
two Conversational Czech language
courses which will start soon.
Conversational Czech I is for
beginners and will start on Thursday,
January 31st. It will meet for ten
sessions through Apríl 11, 1985.
Conversational Czech II is for
persons who háve some background in
Czech and will start on Tuesday,
January 29th. It will meet for ten
sessions through Apríl 9, 1985.
Each class will meet from 7 to 10
p.m. in Room 302 of the Newton
Science Building. The cost of each
course is $34.
Persons who wish to register for
either of these courses should see the
TJC Continuing Education Office or
call them at (817) 773 - 9961 -
Extension 211 before the classes begin.
