District Four
co-hosting Czech Fest
October 30 in Wall
Men, women, boys and girls —
everybody is invited to attend the
SPJST District Four Czech Heritage
Celebration set for October 30 at St.
Ambrose Hal! in Wall, Texas. The
event is being hosted by SPJST Lodge
160, San Angelo, RVOS District Five
and the Concho Valley Czech Heritage
Society. The celebration is being held
in conjunction with Czech Heritage
Week in Texas.
Admission is free. Registration
starts at 1 p.m. for the event which will
include mu sic by the Batla-Havlak
Polka Time Band from 2 until 6 p.m.
Supper will be served at 5 p.m. Set-
ups are available and BYOB.

November 7

La Parita-Jourdanton Lodge 161
will host the District Seven Family Fun
Day on Sunday, November 7, 1999 at
Longhorn Museum, Pleasanton. A
catered meal of turkey and dressing

Lodge 161, La Parita-
Jourdanton hosts
District Seven Falf
meeting
La Parita-Jourdanton Lodge 161 is
excited about hosting the fall meeting
and family fun day on November 7, at a
fabulous location, Longhorn Museum in
Pleasanton. Everyone is invited to
come and view the large display of ani-
mals from África and many other inter- -
esting exhibits. Bring cameras.
Longhorn Museum is located approxi-
maíely two and one half miles west of
Interstate 37 and Highway 97
(Pleasanton exit). Look for the museum
and yellow caboose on the north side of
Highway 97 at the edge of Pleasanton.
The youth will háve their annual
Christmas Ornament Contest. Others
may enter the Kolache and
Needlework contests. Contest rules
follow.
Kolache:
• Member must be 18 or older and a
non-professional
• Made from scratch using yeast
dough
• Must be made by person entering
it.
9 Must consist of only one type of
filling (fruit or poppy seed).
Needlework:
6 Member must be 18 or older.
• Made entirely by hand
• Includes embroidery, crocheting,
knitting and needlepoint.
• May not re-enter a winning item.
We look forward to an exciting day
of contests, good food and many
friendly people to visit with. Hope to
