son of Glenn and Ruth Psencik
and the grandson of Jerry and

Tim’s plans are to attend
Temple College and Texas
A&M University where he will
pursue a degree in Environ-
menta! Design through the
College of Architecture.
LIS A MICHELLE BARNES
Lisa is a member of Lodge
177, Academy and a graduate of
Texas A&M University with a
degree in Interdiscipiinary
Studies (Elem. Education), She is
the daughter of Gene and Linda
Barnes and the granddaughter of
Myrtle and Felix Barnes, and
Ann and George Connorty.
She plans to expand the oper-
ations of Lisa’s Dance Connec-
tion, a Temple dance studio
which she has owned and oper-
ated for the past six years.
VALERIE ROYE
Valerie is a member of
Lodge 30, Taiton and a graduate
oť El Campo High School. She
is the daughter of Bobby and
Anita Roye and the grand-
daughter of Vlasta Krpec and
Richard and Billie Jean Roye.
Valerie plans to attend Texas
A&M University where she
will pursue an Agribusiness
degree.

receive NAFIC
production awards
Two SPJST sales representatives were
recently cited by the National
Association of Fraternal Insurance
Counsellors (NAFIC) to receive produc-
tion awards based on their 1995 perfor-
mance.
Helen Heg-
wood oť Lodge
88, Houston, was
cited as a member
oť the Two
Million Club on
the basis of pro-
ducing $2 million
or more oť liťe
insurance volume
with $20,000 or
more of first-year Helen Hegwood
earned commis-
sions.
Evelyn Mik-
eš k a oť Lodge
196, Houston -
West, was cited as
a member of the
One Million Club
on the basis of
producing $1 mil-
lion or more of
lite insurance vol-
ume with $10,000
or more of first-
year earned com-
missions.
Since the firsí FIC designation was
first awarded in 1937, the prívilege to put
these Ietters behind one’s name has been
a hallmark of professionalism for sales
representatives and home oťťice frater-
nalists. The FIC designation is the
acknowledged standard oť fraternal ťieid
education, demonstrating a commitment
to ethics and providing career develop-
ment and professional recognition.
“Receiving the FIC designation is
highiy commendable,” says Supreme
Lodge Vice President Leonard Mikeska.,
who likewise holds the FIC designation.
To qualify, a person musí pass a series of
three examinations based on the study
courses entitled Basic, Intermediate and
Advanced. A candidate for the designa-
tion must aiso meet certain experience
and ethical requirements as welí as be
sponsored by his or her society.
Candidates for the designation may be
either sales representatives or members
of the home oťťice staťf.
