Services for Karl L. Hughes,
91, of Seminole, were held at 3
p.m. Friday at First Baptist
Church of Seminole with the Rev.
Paul Anderson, pastor,
officiating.
Buriat was in Gaines County
Memorial Cemetery under the
direction of Singleton Funeral
Home.
Hughes died at 6:10 p.m.
Wednesday at Seminole
Memorial Hospital after a lengthy
illness.
He was bom in Cheyenne
Territory, Okla. and moved from
New Boston to Seminole 72 years
ago. He was a retired farmer and
a member of First Baptist Church.
He married Lela Pearl Eaton in
October of 1925 in Rotan. She
preceded hin. 'n death in 1967.
Survivors include a son, Karl
Don Hughes of Seminole; three
daughters, Billie Faye Pool and
Jimmie Williams, both of
Seminole and Juanda Wiseman of
Lubbock; 12 grandchildren; and
18 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as
pallbearers.
Quilters
to meet
The Seminole Quilter’s Club
will hold its final meeting of the
year Monday at the Gaines
County Civic Building.
Quilting will begin at 9 a.m.
and all members and prospective
members arc asked to attend.
