Pvt. Edwin F. Bergman, who
is none other than our ‘Buddy’
Bergman, lias been transferred
from Ellington Field to the
784th Technical School Squad-
ron at the Army Air Base, Lin-
coln. Nebraska.
Mr. and Mrs. Warford James
of Greenville are here visiting
Mrs. John Hanna. Mr. James
is leaving Friday for the army
and Mrs. James will make her
home with Mrs. Hanna for the
present.
Dr. and Mrs. S. E. Potts, ac-
companied by Mr. and Mrs.
Steve Potts Jr., of Beaumont,
visited in Houston Monday.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Potts ac-
companied them home for a
few days visit.
Bobble Ruth Gates entertain-
ed with a birthday party Satur-
day > evening. Those present
were little Misses Nell Rose
Hill, Carolyn Sue Jordan, Ada
Jean Cooper, Janice Duty, and
Betty Sue Barnhardt. Birthday
cake and strawberry punch
was served by Miss Clara Lou-
ise Gates. The prize, a bag of
all-day suckers was awarded
to Betty Sue Barnhardt.

afternoon. They were accom-
panied home by Mr. Thomas’
mother, Mrs. W. F. Thomas.

spent last week with Mr. and
Mrs. 0. L. Mullican.
Mrs. E. A. Manry of Livings-
ton visited relatives and friends
here over the week end.
Alton Smelley of Houston
spent, the week end with Mr.
and Mrs. W. B. Smelley.
U. G. Barclay made a busi-
ness trip to Livingston Monday
Mr. Riley Helmoontoller vis-
ited in New Willard Saturday
night. He was accompanied
home by his daughter and son-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Conner and children.

has been working.

ices at the Baptist church Sun-
day. Everyone is invited.

Of Wichita Kansas are now liv-
ing with Mr. and Mrs. Z. E
Fann and attending school.
Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Webb of
Wichita, Kansas, visited Mr.
and Mrs. Z. E. Fann Sunday
