Laura Putman requests more aid in
this department, saying that since the
holiday season is drawing near, there
has been a falling off in the workers.
Announcement was made of the do-
nation to the local chapter of a 26-
pound turkey by a patriotic lady of
Parker county, Mrs. Crosslin of the
Lambert community. The turkey was
placed in the hands of T. R. Erwin
to be sold to the highest bidder. Mr.
Erwin, after talking to the produce
people and to several citizens about
the bird, received an offer from the
Cato Produce Co. of $6, and as that
was the highest bid, let Mr. Cato have
the bird and turned the money in to
the Red Cross.
