Among those visiting the
Fredericksburg Fair and horse
races Sunday were Mr. and Mrs.
W. C. "Whitehead, Mr. and Mrs.
B. J. Nitsch, Mr. and Mrs. J. F.
Schott, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Burell
and Larry, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Haby and daughters, and Mr. and
Mrs. Wilfred Tschirhart and sons.
Mrs. Susie Mechler of San An-
tonio visited Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Mehr last week.
Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Howard went
to Houston Saturday. Mr. Howard ,
returned the same day, but Mrs.
Howard remained for several
weeks visit with Mrs_ Albert
Tondre and other relatives. •
Miss Barbara Lenzen under-
went a major operation in the
Santa Rosa Hospital in San An-
tonio tijc* past week, She is re-
ported doing Satisfactorily. ,
Miss Betty Nelson of Austin is
visiting Mr. and Mrs.. Stanley
Haby and son, Stephen.
Larry Schott, of San Antonio

week from a two weeks vacation
trip to California.
Mr and Mrs. Fred Hinders of
Dayton, Ohio, left for their home
after a three weeks visit with rela-
tives and friends here. Misses
Dorothy and Leatrice Burell ac-
companied them home for several
weeks.
Mrs. August Tschirhart Sr
spent last week with her son and
family, the Raymond Moehrings,
in San Antonio.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Eh lin-
ger of Somerset spent the week-
end in the Robert Tschirhart 1
home.
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Schott and
Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Whitehead
returned Sunday from a two
weeks vacation trip which took
them through most of California
and many other places of intere-t
along the way.

of sergeant. Sanchez, who served

East Theater of Operations during
the war, is now stationed at Max-
well Field, Ala.

LOSS IN FIRE MONDAY
An alarm answered by the
Hondo Volunteer Fire Department
Monday was a bale of hay which
had caught fire in a barn belong-
ing to Raymond Mumme in the
south part of Hondo.
The barn was not damaged in
