The new test Is No 1-8-B O F.
Boyd, 680 feet from north and east
lines of section 6. block E, L&SV
survey and 24 miles northwest of
Big Lake.
More hole was being made below
5,279 feet at The Texas Company
No. 2-AQ State, project In the Big
Lake, West (Multipay) field, three
miles west and siightly north of
Big Lake
This Ellenburger project is 733
feet from south and 2,050 from
west lines of section 4, block 11,
University Lands survey.
Phillips Petroleum Company No.
1-ZZ Texas University, wildcat In
Southwest Reagan County, was
making hole below 2,780 feet In
anhydrite and lime.
The project Is 660 feet from
north and west lines of section 16,
block 6, University Lands survey
and 10 miles southwest of Big Lake.
This project Is slated to go to
10,000 feet for tests of the Ellen-
burger.
Amerada Petroleum Corporation
No. 1 Mitchell, wildcat In West-
Central Reagan County, was mak-
ing hole blow 10,650 feet In lime
and shale

now assistant chief of the wool ap-
praisal division of the Boston Com-
modity Credit Corp. office Since
Joining the CCC wool staff, Mr.
Cauble lived three years In Boston,
two Ih Denver, two In Washington,
and has been back In Boston for
the past year

Bill Snow, practicing attorney In
Big Lake since April of 1951. auth-
orised The Big Lake Wildcat this
week to announce his candidacy
for the office of county attorney of
Reagan county, his election being
subject to the action of the Demo-
cratic Primary on July 24, 1954.
A veteran of World War U, Mr
Snow Is a graduate of Baylor Uni-
versity Law School. He served In
the U. S. Marine Corps over two
years, and was wounded In action
In December of 1943 at Cape Glou-
chester, New Britain, spending over
11 months In Naval hospitals He
completed his high school, college
and law school work after his dis-
charge from service ana after his
marriage Before entering law
school he attended N T. A C. at
Arlington and Weatherford Junior
College.
He and Mrs. Snow and their two
sons and daughter live at 803 Plaza
Ave. The children are Joe Ray. 7;
Gary. 5; and Vicki, 1.
RCHS Sophomore Dies
In Kermit Hospital
Peggy Ann DeMasters, 15. resi-
dent of Big Lake until recently,
died at 1:30 Monday morning In
the Winkler County Memorial Hos-
pital at Kermit. She had been suf-
fering from a heart ailment for
several months She was a dattfth-
ter of Mr and Mrs M. L. DeMas-
ters. who had been living In Big
Lake for the past year, until they
returned last week to Wink, their
former home.
Funeral services were held Tues-
day afternoon In the First Metho-
dist Church at Wink Rev Roy
Shilling. Big Lake pastor, assisted
Rev. Contrell, pastor of the Wink
Church, In the funeral services.
Burial was In the Kermit Ceme-
tery.
Peggy was born August 8, 1938 at
Wink where she attended school
until she graduated from Junior
high school. Before coming to Big
Lnke, she had attended school In
Midland for a short time She was
a sophomore in Reagan County
High School when the family
moved from here A member of the
Methodist Church*, she was very
active in the young people's organ-
izations, and she took part in all
the school activities. She was a
member of the local chapter of the
Future Homemakers of America
Besides her parents, she Is sur-
vived by one sister, Olorla Jean;
and her grandparents. Mr and
Mrs A. A DeMasters of Wink, and
Mr and Mrs H P Anderson of
Monument, N M

were chosen from her Sunday
School class and from the sopho-
more class In Big Lake They were

on and Stiles A recent action of
the commissioners court restored
this precinct to Its original size of
1903 when Reagan County was or-
ganized In 1918. the commissioners
changed the boundary line, placing
the area, which now embraces
Kemper Station, Best, Santa Rita
and Texon, In Precinct Two, so
that ranchmen living In the south-
west portion ol the county could
vole at Big Lake instead of going
the long distance to Stiles

Cartwright Escapes
Major Injuries in Fall
F J Cartwright. 84, who sustain-
ed a cracked hip bone on Wednes-
day of last week when he received
a fall on the Icy pavement, was
able to leave the hospital on Tues-
day. and by Thursday, with the aid
of crutches, he was able to go to
the courthouse to attend to his
duties as Justice of the peace
Besides serving as Justice of the
j peace, a post he has held for near-
' ly 25 years, he Is also employed by
j Wm Cameron & Co. He was on his
; way from the courthouse to Cam-
| cron's and had started ift cross the
j highway from the Firestone Store

Mrs Otto Maxwell, 32. of Bakers-

died Tuesday night following a
lengthy Illness, according to a mes-
sage received by relatives here Fu-
neral services and burial were at
Bakersfield None of the relatives
here were able to attend
Mrs Maxwell Is survived by her
husband, a 12-year-old son. Keith,
and her parents, Mr and Mrs. E
M Baldridge, all of Bakersfield,
and several brothers and sisters
Mr Maxwell Is a water well con-
