if they dm l have die hall*. The
Owls proved those true as they used
hall-control to down the Cubs
The Cub* received the kickoff
but tumbled and lost the hall to the
Owb an then fifth offensive play.
The Owb recovered the ball and
started their offense near midfield.
Fine runs by Cesar Ramirez and
David Valenzuela gave the Owb a
fust down on the 25-yard line. A
fine pass from Joe Ramirez to
Ronald Reyes gave the Owls great
field position at the 9-yard line A 4
yard loss on the nest play put the
Owls 13 yards from the goal line.
On the nest play. David Valenzuela
skirted right end and found the end
zone and us points. Joe Ramirez
ran around left end on a pass-run
option and crossed the goal line for
the two-point conversion. The se-
ries took close lo 7 minutes off die
clock After a fine return on the
kickoff and two penalties against
the Owb. the Cubs had a first down
at the Owl 24-yard line. A great
defensive stand by the Owls forced
the Cuhs to run out of downs on the
15 yard line. The Owls then ran out
the clock and maintained an 8-0
lead.
The second half was more of the
same for the Ow b. After receiving
the kickoff on their own 23-yard
line, the Owls proceeded to con-
sume the enure third quarter clock
and moved the ball to the Cub 11 -
yard line when a fourth down play
lost 4 yards and possession of the
ball with 5:00 remaining in the
game. The defense came up with
another fumble recovery and a pass
interception by John George lo keep
the Owls in good shape with their
offense. The Owls contained the
