Reported «k Very Sick-
Thursday afternoon Mrs. Robert D.
Speed, Jr., received a telegram from
a physician at Cleburne that her hus-
band was very sick and for her to
come on the earliest train. Mrs. Speed
left for Cleburne on the afternoon T.
& P. train and Mrs. R. D. Speed, Sr.,
mother of the young man, left for;the
same place over the Santa Fe. Nei-
ther of the ladies were aware of the
nature of the illness and were of
course much concerned, as nothing
else beside the fact that he was very
ill was learn. Friday morning it was
learned Mr. Speed had been stricken
with appendicitis and at the last feport
was doing as well as could he expect-
ed. Because of the fact that therei s
so much meningitis over the state,
some anxiety was felt as to whether
he had this disease or not. It is to he
hoped that the young man will pull
through all right.
