I truly believe that nothing we have done in Texas this decade matches -/5-/
in scope, impact, and iitEgrity Hemifs-Fir 1968. First, I would like to point
out what HemisFair is not:
It is not a money-making proposition because it is being run by a non-profit
corporation set up under the laws of the State of Texas, Oan by an unpaid
Executive Committee and Board of Directors. It is emphatically not just
a fair or carnival because there shall remain a permanent legacy to the entire
tSouthwest, It is not a trade fair, although commerce and its effects will
have an important"stat4f9ent to hake, but rather an exciting portrayal of the
greatness of this hemisphere, including commerce, communication, and culture.
