care is taken to dress warmly and keep
the feet dry This is the advice of an
old eminent authority who says that

tle and take a teaspoonful after meals
and at bedtime
Just try this simple homo made mix-
ture at the first sign of Rheumatism or
if your back aches or you feel that the
kidneys are not acting just right This
is said to be a splendid kidney ragula
tor and almost certain remedy for all
forms of Rheumatism which is causi d
by uric acid in the blood which the
kidneys fail to filter out Any one can
easily prepare this at home and at
small cost
Druggists in this town snd vicinity

that they can either supply these ingre-

REV J S LEWIS
At a meeting of the Jefferson Minis-
terial Association on March 2 1903
the following resolutions were passed
Whereas the Rev J S Lewis pas-
tor of the First Baptist church of Jef-
ferson goes from our community this
week to take up his chosen work of the
ministry in Dallas county Texas there-
fore be it
Resolved by the Ministerial Associa-
tion of Jeflerson Tex
That we recognise the departure of
Rev J S Lewis from our city as a dis-
tinct loss to the ministerial and spirit-
ual strength and force of our church
and community life
That we Bhall miss him as a comrade
in the ministry He was ever free from
sectarion bigotry and is always found
congenial with his brethren we have
found him to be a most efficient co-
worker in the Masters service
That we will ever cherish the memo-
ry of the sweetness of his life the in-
spiration of his optimism and the firm-
ness of his faith in God In our midst
he lived above reproach carried sun-
shine wherever he went and was Gods
instrument in doing a work that will
bear much fruit
That we thank God for the two years
of his ministry in our community for
daring that time his voica has been
heard in no uncertain sound upon all
moral issues He has displayed a fear
lessness in denouncing evil aud uphold-
ing righteouness that will ever endear
him to the moral element of our com
munity
That we wish to express our apprecia
tiod of the family of Bro Lewis and
especially of Mrs Lewis who in all the
labors of her husband has been a most
efficient helper She is beloved all who
