The Hkkald is already at work
ou its Annual Eiister Edition and
it is going tobe made the prettiest
newspaper ever printed in Pales-
tine The edition will be issued
Saturday April 15 in ample time
for themerchants to make their
Easter announcements Contracts
for epace in this edition should be
made in advance Telephone our
ad man and he will call on you
and will explain the matter to you
fully No enterprising merchant
can afford to stay out of this

RriooRDEB Sweany led the city
ticket yesterday and is today re-
ceiving the congratulations of his
friends
This weather has put a crimp in
the linen suit and straw hat trade
Next thing we know some one will
be advertising a special sale in
blankets
When you see two women to-
gether these days you canbetthey
are discussing Easter dresses and
that both of them are talking at
the same time
Now then lets cut policies out
for a time and do some hustling
for Palestine for its a good old
town and we all want to see it a
better one
The city election has passed off
without engendering any bad feel-
ing so there is no reason why wc
can not all make a hard pull and
a strong pull all together
The best way in the world to
keep up a good town and build it
is to spend your money at home
Palestine merchants give good
values and they carry the kind of
stocks that ought to supply any
reasonable demand
Some one suggests that iwybc
the Herald has an encuy that is
tryingto put it out of business by
the Gre route We dont believe
it No one could be so unjust to
the town as to want to see its good
newspaper put out of business
It may be fun to the small boy
to see the fire horses go by but it
is not fun to tho firemen who run
a risk every time they answer an
alarm nor would it be any fuu to
the man whose property was de-
stroyed Wo dont need any fire-
bugs in Palestine even of the pee
weo variety
The Hon T M Campbell is
the only candidate mentioned for
governor who stand for anything
in tho way of issues in which the
public is interested Some others
want the oflice but there is no
particular reason for giving it to
them save the bestowing of emol-
uments to the amount of 4000 a
year Breckenridge Democrat
The Hkkald has some excellent
advertising space to offer the bus-
iness man who wants to reach the
1 big majority of the reading pub-
lic in this city Wc would like to
see some of our wholesale people
in these columns Wo dont need
the money but these things look
well for a town We have those
enterprises hero but the outside
world dont know it by reading
the papers and people judge a
town by its newspapers

PALESTINE TEXAS APRIL 5 1905
EASTER EDITION
It is past all understanding why
some parents will let their baby
boys run around the streets at
night without any restraint It is
no wonder that now and then they
get in trouble Wo dont believe
in curfew laws but wc do bclievo
strongly in home rule in every
thing from Ireland down to very
small bad boys Parents keep
your boys at home at night
When a boy gets to bo bigger than
the old man it is time enough
to turn him loose on the town
Tm Honey Grove Signal says
Oh for a Joseph W Folk for
governorl Somehow that senti
ment is gaining expression
throughout Texas from those
who bear the burdens of taxation
and receive none of tiio favors
But there is Hon Thos M Camp
bell of Anderson county He is
able courageous and a man of tho
people and would make Texas a
good governor The people how-
ever seem to be sleeping resting
in the faith that all is well
