A BIG JOB FOR THE HERALD
The Herald has secured the con-
tract for printing and publishing the
delinquent tax list of Anderson coun-
ty the list covering a dozen years
past and comprising some 12000 or
13000 tracts of land It Is one of the
biggest jobs ever undertaken by an
East Texas printing house and for
the next CO or 90 days the Heraid
force will be very busy It Is a job
that would be impossible for a shop
not equipped with a linotype and other
modern machinery to accomplish
There are some weeds growing In
streets and public alleys that should
not grow there It is a good time to
get busy with the scythe and hoe
After all our fears there Is making
and made a pretty good crop of corn
and the cotton Is humping along The
all th °
prospects are flattering along
line
As an evidence that the building
boom is on In earnest In ral
estine it Is next to impossible to get
a mechanic in the building trades to
do a piece of work for love or money
The town boasts of a stray dog or-
dinance and is provided with a spec-
ial officer for the purpose of rounding
up the worthless canines still the
number does not seem to diminish
very fast
According to nls own testimony as
given in the Federal court at Chicago
cisco What an opportunity the man
had to be somebody to make a record
worth living for and how he fell H-
is a tragedy of human life and must
be unspeakably humllltating to the
