Bolae Idaho July 2C In speaking
for the prosecution in the now famous
Haywood trial Attorney Borah used
this expression
The crooked devious trail of this
arch fiend leads directly from the
bloodbespattered ruins of the Inde-
pendence depot and from the shatter-
ed gateway In Caldwell stained with
the life blood of one of Idahos great-
est men to the Denver Federation of-
fice and to the very desks of Moycr
and Haywood
Mrs Belle Steuncnbcrg widow of
the murdered governor today for the
first time had a scat within the rail
at the trial She followed Prosecutor
Borahs argument closely
Three thousand people besieged the
court house today seeking admission
to hear Borah in his final summing up
in the Haywood case
Borah talked along four lines as
follows Did a conspiracy to commit
a crime exist was Haywood wilfully a
member or such conspiracy is Orch-
ard telling the truth and is there
enough evidence outside of Orchards
talk to convict
The case rested at noon until to-
night Borah declared that there Is
no question but that the brains be-
hind the conspiracy were furnished by
Haywood and that Haywood knew all
about Orchards plans
