BOLD PLAN OF PRESIDENT
Suppress Law Breaking Trusts By An
Executive Order
Washington D C Nov 12 The
president has under consideration a
bold plan for the control of trusts If
congiess will agree to it by enacting
appropriate legislation he will have
j power over the great industries that
would enable him to stop them from
doing business if found violating the
law
lawThe
The plan involves control over cor-
porations doing an Interstate business
by which they could be either wiped
out of existence or seriously crippled
by what would amount to executive
order This is to be Accomplished
first by the enactment of a law re
quiring concerns engaged in such
business to take out Federal license
or incorporate under national laws
If a corporation is suspected of vio-
lating the law there Is to be an Inves-
tigation by agents of the de artmenl
of justice or the Interstate Commerce
Commission and the violations being
established to the satisfaction or the
government officers the license of the
corporation may be revoked

rial convention which meets at Ju-
neau today to elect six delegates and
six alternates to the republican na-
tional convention of 100S It Is inti-
mated that Governor W B Hoggatt
will meet with violent opposition In
the convention
The delegates from the Nome and
Fairbanks districts go to the conven
tion pledged to home rule for Alaska
and unalterably opposed to the policy
of Governor Hoggatt who maintains
that the territory does not want self
government
Another feature of the convention
Is the probability that not only will it
Indorse President Roosevelt for a
third term but ll will also If permit-
ted send Its delegates to the national
convention with Roosevelt Instruc-
tions
There is no doubt that the conven-
tion will indorse Tom Cale the non-
partisan present delegate to congress
and pledge him continued support
There is also some talk that Cale will
be selected as one of the delegates to
the national convention although his
friends are desirous that he keep free
from any political alliance for the
reason that he was elected to his
present seat by all parties combined

CLOCK IN II BOTTLE
A German cldckmaker living in the
little village of Gommrr near Madge
burg has built a clock In a bottle
The maker H Rosin secured a strong
movement with a cylinder escape-
ment measuring fortyfive millimet-
ers and began by sawing the plate
Into halves The opening in the neck
of the bottle measures fifteen milli-
meters and in order to get these
halves into the bottle he cut another
segment of each of the halves of the
plate He built a sort of tripod as a
resting place for the movement This
tripod was assembled after he had in-
troduced its parts into the bottle sep
arately The tripod is so constrticted
that it cannot turn when the move-
ment Is being wound The four pieces
of the plate were fastened side bv
dde by means of screws to the plat-
form attached to the tripod n long
screw driver and other tools especial-
ly constructed for the puri > ose having
been used for this operation When
the plate was put together the clock-
maker proceeded to put all the parts
of the movement in their ori4nal
places with the motion wheels for the
hands A ring of white metal was
placed around the neck of the bottlo
and upon this ring was soldered a-
round plate thus closing the oiieniim
On this cover were fastened in an in
dined position the arms which serv <
as a support for the dial
The dial is made of a ground glass
plate which lias a diameter or twenty
centimeters The black numbers on
the dial are cut skeleton fashion and
cemented to the glass At night one
can tell the time by placing a light be-
hind the dial December Technical
