Was Shown By the
Today In the Pony
and Cart Contest
Great interest is shown in the pony
and cart contest by the first voting
day results The ballot bor at the
Herald office has been well stuffed
with both paper coupons and subscrip-
tion coupons The little candidates
have been coming and going all day
The first count which will be an-
nounced Monday following Saturday
July 11 is going to show some sur-
prising results and on that date some
fortunate girl or boy is going to be
awarded the 5 gold piece
Now one word about the pony and
cart Some one has intimated the
outfit is overvalued If yon think so
just drop a line to the Michigan Bug-
gy company Kalamazoo Mich who
will furnish us the outfit and ask
them about it They will furnish you
a catalogue on request The Shetland
ponies they sell at from 150 to 250
each Thej aro the genuine article
When you write tell them you have
permission of the Herald to ask what
the outfit will cost They will tell
you for they have other outfits for
sale They can duplicate the outfit
bought by the Herald or they can sell
you something cheaper or much more
expensive
This Herald pony and cart isgoing
to be given to some boy or girl for
work done It need not cost them a
cent except in time And you would
hardly count the time of boys and
girls in dollars and cents for few of
them are wageearners
Remember the coupon now running
in the paper must be voted by July
4 Other coupons will be piinted but
this series must be in the ballot box
by the end o that day

A Square Talk About
We have been In the Alusic business in this town twelve years and
during this time have lntioduced THE VERY BEST Pianos ever
sold here this is a fact beyond controversy Standard makes like
the Everett Gabler and Kranich Bach were unknown here until
we introduced them and pianos like these are not generally bought
in car loads When we purchase a piano WE DO NOT consider if
the manufacturer makes ton or a thousand every week this counts
for nothing WHAT WE DO CARE ABOUT is the tone action and
durability of his instruments these
very important points guiding us
iu making selections When we find a piano possessing all these
requirements we buy it at lowest spot cash price diiect from factory
NOWHERE ELSE Our customers got the benefit of this cash re-
duction which makes quite a difference in the cost and after adding
a reasonable profit we can sell the best piano at the lowest price
no dealer can do any better
As the net wholesale cost of our pianos is always the same and re-
cently even more on account of increased cost of material and
labor we cannot at any time offer SO CALLED BARGAINS nor
make a reduction of 5000 or more on any instrument for the sim-
ple reason that our small profits will not allow it neither do we
care to do this kind of business believing as wo do that a fixed
and low price ALL THE TIME is fairest to all
Among our stock we liavo the Becker Bros Piano which for tone
quality durability and low price cannot bo surpassed anwhere
If you are going to buy i piano dont forgot yon can ALWAYS GET
A REAL SQUARE DEAL at
Schreiners
When von buy a paint that haa
satisfied Americans for 20 long
years in other words
you Know you are investing your money in a paint
that must have merit The sale of Horse-
Shoe Paint is increasing by leaps and hounds
every year because people recognize that its pig-
ments consisting entirely of Strictly pure Zinc and
Strictly pure White Leadin every possible shade
without any cheapening or adulterating material
whatever form the strongest combination it is
possible for any paint to have The Zinc and Lea J
in Horse Shoe Paint arc ground in Linseed
On crushed in the manufacturer s own mills to
insure purity the finest coloring matter and
pure Japan Drier arc then added and the
ingredients thoroughly mixed by heavy scientific
machinery
Every can is carefully tested
by expert chemists before
leaving the factory and this
inspection is backed up by
the manufacturers with the
strongest guarantee both as
to purity and to wear
Horse Shoe Paint
spreads easily and evenly and
never chalks cracks or peels
retains its beautiful high fin-
ish for years and years
that s why careful and thrifty
householders have been using
it for nearly a quarter of
a century
