Of course
its easy to
a fantastic dessert if you
spend a fantastic amount of time
oi it. The trick'is in nr. paring a
dish that looks like you really
logged in the tune-but really
took only a short span. For t? -
ample, fruit gelatin desserts are
quickies, but if you fold in one
cup of ripe mashed bananas just
when its starting to thicken,
slightly, then the result looks
and tastes much more elaborate.
Even fancier, is folding in a half
eup of whipped cream and then
filling parfait glasses with the
mixture plus four ripe bananas
and garnishing with a few slices
of the tasty yellow fruit A des-
sert like “Banana Ambrosia” is
simple too. In a bowl merely com-
bine two sliced Chiquita Brand
bananas with two peeled and sec-
tioned oranges, sprinkle with
sugar and top with flaked coco-
nut. After the refrigerator
“cools it” then it's ready to make
its refreshing appearance at the
end of vour meal.
An ill-time all-Amer'can fa-
vorite is smooth, divinely deli-
cious Banana Cream Pie. A
quickie way to make ifc is by
Using * jme-baked pie shell, fill-
ing it with pudding or pie fill-
ing mix and when it’s cooled off
ten minutes, garnish with pret-
tily placed little slices of Chiqui-
ta Brand bananas and top with
sweetened whipped cream.
Everyone can make just des-
serts. 'But the really envied
homemaker is the one who can
add a little dash of ingenuity and
come up with an almost wholly
new food idea. Golden, sweet ba-
nanas are or.e of the most versa-
tile ingredients in turning the
ordinary dessert into the extra>
ordinary one.

Seedless grapes have been a
favorite American dessert for at
least three generations — ever
since a California farmer named
William Thompson accidentally
discovered the juicy, green berry
that everyone k:ic w s today as the
familiar “white” grape.
Smart menu planners are for-
ever finding new and imaginative
ways to serve this delightful
fruit. Here are just a few easy-
to-prepare grape desserts you
may want to try:
• Mix grapes with vanilla or
fruit flavored yoghurt. Serve
right out of the carton or in an
elegant dessert dish.
• Prepare orange gelatin and
chill until it thickens slightly.
Fold in stemmed Thompson seed-
less grapes; chill until firm.
Serve with sweetened whipped
