Last Friday, Guardians of the Children, a children’s advocacy organization and motorcyclists group, made a
special stop at the Children’s Alliance Center for Palo Pinto County. During their visit they dropped off
office supplies and stuffed bears for the children. GOC President B.J. “Scout” Wallace commended CAC for
its contributions to the fight against child abuse. To make things sweeter,Wallace and his crew felt the need
to donate money so the organization could gather whatever supplies GOC might have missed. Pictured
below is Wallace giving CAC Director Libby Cluett a check totaling $250. Pictured above is GOC’s Roy
‘Cobra’ Ward delivering stuffed bears.

This series of pieces from the past is meant to
remind us of this area’s unique history. The material
comes from old issues maintained at the Index office
and is presented pretty much as it appeared in print.
These papers are quite yellowed and brittle, deterio-
rating from age. By publishing these pieces perhaps
we can keep them in play in the digital world for
years to come. For clarity, some punctuation issues
have been addressed. Hopefully you will enjoy these
tiny windows to the past. Feedback is appreciated
