JCRSEA
Jack County Retired School Employ-
ees will have a meeting at noon Monday,
Sept. 10, at the Concerned Citizens Cen-
ter. The association meets every second
Monday. They do not meet during the
summer.
Bryson City
Bryson City Council will meet at 7 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 10, at City Hall. Regular
meetings are held the second Monday of
each month. A complete agenda will be
tsted 72 hours in advance at the Bryson

Jacksboro Independent School District
trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept.
10, at the board room, 750 W. Belknap.
Trustees meet regularly the second Mon-
day of each month.
Commissioners Court
Jack County Commissioners Court will
meet in regular session at 10 a.m. Mon-
day, Sept. 10, at the courthouse. Com-
missioners regularly meet the second and
fourth Monday of each month.
Lions Club
Lions Club will meet in regular ses-
sion at noon. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at
the Lions Building on East Street behind
the newspaper. They meet regularly the
second and fourth Wednesdays of every
month. They serve a catered lunch.
Friends of the Museum
Jack County Friends of the Museum
will meet at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept.
13, in the museum.The group meets ev-
ery second Thursday of the month.

The eagle has landed...
In a rarely seen glimpse of one
of nature’s most majestic crea-
tures, Game Warden Gary Hobbs
responded to a call concerning a
wounded bald eagle Aug. 21.
The eagle had apparently been
struck by a vehicle and had bro-
ken its wing. Mark Levy hap-
pened to be traveling on High-
28 1 headed to Wichita Falls
discovered the bird on the
side of the road, approximately
12 miles north of Jacksboro.
“I saw a car stopped on the side
of the road, and I pulled over to
see if I could help them. I thought
they must have had car trouble.
When I turned around, some-
thing caught my eye. That was
when I saw the eagle in the bar
ditch.”
It took some discussion be-
tween Levy and another driver
to figure out exactly what to do.
That is when Hobbs was called
in.
