ARCHER CITY, TEXAS
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Wilson were
hosts to an even dozen at a din-
ner of turkey at their home in
Archer City, Thanksgiving Day.
The guests included Mr. and Mrs.
Clyde Rousaville formerly of Ar-
cher City, now of Gray Back;
Mrs. Cora Hull, mother of Mrs.
Wilson; Mr. and Mrs. Don Roun-
saville and son Jimmy, all of Ar-
cher City; and Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Burkett and children. Butch and
Cindy of Wichita Falls.
Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Wilson
had the pleasure of entertaing
Mrs. Wilson’s mother, Mrs. A. S.
Fonville of Wichita Falls, theif
daughter and husband, Mr. and
Mrs. J. C. Woodard, of Olustee,
Okla, and son Albert of North
Texas State College, Denton, at
dinner on Thanksgiving Day. Al-
bert spent the holiday week end
at home, returning to Denton
Sunday afternoon.
Mrs. Alice Robertson and child-
ren, Myra Lois and Mack of Rush
Springs, Okla. arrived in Ar-
cher City on Thanksgiving day
and remained through Friday vis-
iting Mrs. Robertson's mother in
law, Mrs. M. A. Robertson and
the rest of the Robertson clan,
use with cut.
The Vincent Murphy’s had as
their guests at Thanksgiving Day
turkey dinner, the lady’s mother
and father, Mr. and Mrs. W. F.
Carter, of Howe, Texas, and her
brother, and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Cleo Carter and boys of Bells,
Texas.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gage of
Mankins were Archer City visi-
tors last Saturday. They had as
thanksgiving day guests, Mrs.
Gage’s brother, Mr. Clay Byrne
and wife, and 2 children of Dan-
gerfield, and their daughter and
husband, Mr. and Mrs. Odell
Blair of Eleetra.
Mrs. Jeanette Davis, popular
Archer City business woman and
civic leader was hostess at a
Thanksgiving dinner to her daugh
ter and family, Mr. and Mrs.
George Goulden and children, Ja-
nice and Cal, of Ft. Worth, and
Mr. and Mrs. Dick Coleman and
children, Mavis and Leslie, and
Mrs. Jewell Coleman, all of Scot-
land.

Throughout Archer County
this year, families and businesses
will be given the opportunity to
compete for gift certificates to be
awarded by the Archer County
Chamber of Commerce for the
best decorated homes and busi-
nesses in the county, Harold Ma-
| this, Manager, announced this
week. The contest is being spon-
sored by the organizaton for the
purpose of stimulatng interest
in the beautification of the coun-
ty during the holiday season and
to arouse community wide par-
I ticipation in a C of C activity.
The county will be divided in-
to four sections, Windthorst and
I Scotland; Archer City; Holliday
and Dundee; and Megargel. In
each section, there will be an
award made to the best decora-
tion of a residence and one to
the best business decoration.
Judging will be done by im-
partial judges between the dates
of December 13-18 and awards
will be announced on Dec. 20.
The Chamber of Commerqq
urges complete cooperation of
businesses and families in order
to make the coming Christmas
season the most, beautiful ever
in Archer County.
