Golf Group
Seeks Members
The Archer City Golf Assoc-
iation, spurred into activity last
week following a verbal agree-
ment to purchase the Taylor
Estate home and acreage for the
site and location of a nine-hole
golf course, is still shy of the
membership goal. Additional
members have been signed with-
in the past few days pushing
the membership above the 50
mark.
During the initial drive last
year there were near 75 that
agreed to join the Association
but when the initial $50 mem-
bership dues were collected the
number fell somewhat.
Cecil Haigood, chairman for
the group, said that several had
promised that they would join
but was waiting until the pro-
jec was near underway before
they would pay for the member-
ship. ‘‘We now need these,” he
said.
