To the People of Archer County:
It has been my privilege and
pleasure to serve as your Democra-
tic Congressman since 1951. I thank
you for your continued loyalty and
confidence in me.
On Nov. 8th, you will exercise
your Right to Vote for the Party and
Nominee of your choice. It is my
sincere opinion the Democratic Party
represents all the people.
In 1958, the Congress offered my
amendment to the Foreign Oil Im-
port Bill. This amendment gave the
i *
President the power to curb and stop
the flow of foreign oil. The President
and Nixon have refused to use the
powers which would be helpful to
the small independent oil men. The
major oil companies are flooding the
nation with cheap oil.
In regards to the Oil Depletion
Allowance, the record shows that
your Democratic Congressmen and
Senators from Texas have led the
fight to maintain the 27^% oil allow-
ance. Many of the Republicans have
opposed it.

appreciation to Senator Johnson and Sam Rayburn, and
other Democrats, for their outstanding leadership and
devotion to America. Thank vou.
