Three Indicted
By Grand Jury
Three indictments were return-
ed Friday by an Archer County
grand jury.
Paul R. Chappell of Fort W< %;h
was indicted on a charge of “rob-
bery by assault.” Chappell is the
airman who was charged with
assaulting a Fort Worth woman
about two weeks ago on a coun
ty road south of here. He is still
being held in Archer County
jail. Bond has been denied.
Ralph Bowen Duke was in-
dicted for auto theft. He is charg-
ed with theft of an automobile
owned by W. T. Adams of Wichita
Falls, but Duke was arrested in
Archer County by Highway Pa-
trolman Kenneth Triplett.
Duke remains in Archer Coun-
ty jail in lieu of $1500 bond.
The third true hill was against
Eddie Murphee of Holliday. He
was indicted for burglary of the
C. R. Reed residence in Holli-
day. Murphee alledgedly took
three guns from the Reed home
July 28.

Williams Attends
Wheat Conference
David Williams of Dundee and
BiU McPherson and Gilbert Schur
of Vernon represented the Roll-
ing Plains Wheat Growers As-
sociation at the meeting of the
Texas Wheat Growers held Friday
in Amarillo.
A lengthy discussion on the
1963 voluntary wheat program
and the 1954 wheat certificate
plan was held. Directors voted
endorsement of the certificate
plan and will work for its pass-
age in the referendum to be held
in 1963.
Williams was appointed to rep-
resent Texas as a director on the
Board of Great Plains Wheat Inc.,
a world wide marketing agency
with headquarters in Garden
City, Kan.
Two resolutions were passed,
as follows:
1. That the Texas Insurance
Commission change the waiting
period for hail insurance back to
24 hours after sign up instead of
the present 120 hours.
2. That the USDA immediately
release for grazing the land re-
tired under the 1962 wheat pro-
gram.

Funeral Services
Frank L. Ferguson, 69, of
Shreveport, La., brother-in-law
of T. E. Hoggins, died Tuesday,
Sept. 25 in a Louisiana hospital.
