Red Cross Worker
Advises Families
01 Servicemen
Conduit troops and critical war
materials have transportation
priority over men traveling
home on furloughs from overseas
and visits home are delayed for
the two reasons, Mrs. H. 0.
Dean, executive secretary of the
Nolan Red Cross said this week.
"Families frequently become
alarmed when servicemen fail to
reach home when expected,” said
Mrs. Dean. "Both Red Cross and
the war department records
show that such anxiety is unus-
ally unwarranted as the most
frequent cause of delay.”
Those who are out of touch
with servicemen long overdue on
furlough are advised to write di-
rectly to the branch of service to
which the men are assigned. If
this fails the Nolan county Red
Cross chapter will communicate
with tlie Red Cross field director
attached to the man’s organiza-
tion to determine whether or not
he has left the area.
