Some 40 Bowman resi-
dents attended the annual
Bowman Community Christ-
mas party held recently at
the community house. They
enjoyed a covered-dish
supper and exchanged gifts.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Trainham were hosts for a
Christmas party at their
home last Friday. Guests for
the occasion were employees
of the City National Bank
credit department of which
Delores is manager. These
included Messrs. and
Mmes. Gary Schaefer, Gary
McDonald, Terry Hayley,
Jim Watson, Jeff Johnston,
and Tom Morris. Special
guests were Vesta Olson, a
former employee of the
bank, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe
Lewis. Mrs. Lewis is
Charles' sister.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright
were hosts for an open
house last Friday evening.
The guests enjoyed an array
of “goodies” to eat and the
men entertained themselves
with a pool tournament.
Guests included Messrs, and
Mmes. Don Dolberry, John
M. Estes. Ted Crow, Lloyd
Crow, Otis Elmore, Bobby
Hogue, and Larry Lofland.
Special Guests were Mr. and
Mrs. Danny Goodson and
Linda. Lois' parents and

the holidays with home folk,
the James Williams. She
attends Tarleton State in
Stephen ville.
Megargel Sparta
Megargel hosted Olney
Tuesday night. Girls score
was 140 for Megargel to
Olney's 27. Cathi Cuba was
high pointer.
Megargel boys lost to
Olney with a score of S3 to
46. Glen Nolte and Paul
McQueen were top scorers.
Megargel took part in the
Holliday Tournament held
last week. The boys won one
and lost two and the girls
won two and lost one for
third place.

The First Baptist Church
had a Christmas program
Sunday night. All the
churches in Megargel joined
together to have a hay ride
for all the youth. They sang
Christmas carols all over the
city. Afterwards, hot dogs
and various kinds of pastries
were served. About 75
children were present for the
occasion with about 20
adult chaperons.

A Christmas luncheon was
held in the B. V/. Tedrow,
Jr. home in honor of Mrs. J.
H. Pendergrass of the
Archer Nursing Home in
Archer City. Attending were
Mr, and Mrs. J. C. Pender-
grass and Allen of Archer
City, Mr. and Mrs. Nickey
Sternadel of Archer City,
Mr. and Mrs. S. T. Pender-
grass, Judy and Jill, of Iowa
Park, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy
Pendergrass of Wichita
Fails, Mrs. J. C. Baxter of
Wichita Falls, Mrs. Alvin
Gensler, Mickey and Mi-
chael of Dallas, Brad
McEwen of Wichita Falls,
Mr. and Mrs. Art Evens of

Howard of Megargel, Mr.
and Mrs. David Seay of Fort

The members of the
Sophomore Confraternity of
Christian Doctrine Class
planned and held a Christ-
mas party in the Children’s
Unit of the State Hospital on
Monday evening, Dec. 15.
The party was a project of
the class and was their way
of spreading Christmas
cheer and Christ’s love
during this holiday season.
The teenagers made bean
bags that were presented to
each child in the unit.
Games, songs, and Christ-
mas stories were enjoyed by
all. Santa Claus made an
appearance during the eve-
ning and proceeded to talk
to each child; then he pre-
sented each boy or girl with
a stuffed animal. The
animals were donated by
members of the sophomore
class.

Lubbock last weekend where
they visited the Flushe’s
son, Charles, and his family,
including the newest addi-
tion, a son bom last week.

Miss Donna Wolf, bride-
elect of Billy Winter, was
honored at a “Come and
Go" bridal shower on
Sunday afternoon. The
shower was held in the home
of the groom’s parents, Mr.
and Mrs. John Winter. The
honoree was presented with
a wide array of useful
household items.
Hostesses for the party
were Mmes. John Winter,
Ed Sternadel, and James
Sternadel.
Parents of the couple are
Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Wolf and
Mr. and Mrs. John Winter.

held a Christmas party for
the ladies in Ward Six at the
State Hospital last Thursday
evening. Games were en-
joyed by the group, followed
by each woman being pre-
sented with a plate of
Christmas goodies. Catholic
Daughters attending were
Mmes. Mary Lou Schroeder,
Roberta Schroeder, Alma
Scheffe, Julia Wolf and
Genavieve Kermiar.

their wives displayed the
true Christmas spirit last
Friday evening when they
went caroling around town.
They sange Christmas carols
and hymns to many of the
town's elderly citizenery.
