Funeral services for Chester
F. Miller. 60, president of
Miller and Holmes Construc-
tion Co. of Wichita Falls,
were held Thursday at First
Christian Church in Wichita
Falls. Church pastor. Dr.
John Muir officiated assisted
by Wichita Falls Mavor
Kenneth Hill.
Burial was in the Dundee
Cemetery under the direc-
tion of Hampton-Vaughn
Funeral Home.
Mr. Miller died Tuesday 7,
at his home in Wichita Falls
after a long illness. He was
bom May 24, 1920 in
Dundee and spent most of
his early years on the ranch
of his grandparents, the late
Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Miller at
Dundee.
Miller served with the 76th
Battallion Co. A-6th Armor-
ed Division of the U.S. Army
for four years and two
months on the front lines in
Europe during WW11.
He was a past president of
West Texas chapter, Associ-
ated General Contractors, a
member Southwest Rotary
and served as chairman of
the Carpenters Apprentice-
ship Program and the
Carpenters State Health and
Welfare program.

Services for Gary Ray
Jentsch, who was killed in a
one-car wreck Sunday were
held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St.
Paul Lutheran Church with
the Rev. David Jeske,
pastor, officiating. Burial
followed in Crestview Me-
morial Park under the
direction of Hampton-
Vaughan Funeral Directors.
Jentsch, 30, of Wichita
Falls, was killed about 7:30
p.m. Sunday in a one-vehicle
accident 15 miles north of
Archer City, Texas on State
Highway 79.
Jentsch was an employee of
Burlington Northern Rail-
roao ind was a member of
St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife,
Mary Jentsch; parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Jentsch Jr.
of Wichita Falls; grand-
mother, Mrs. Alvin Jentsch
Sr. of Wichita Falls; two
daughters, Kristi and Tif-
fany Jentsch, both of the
home; a son, Jason Jentsch;
two sisters, Mrs. Diana
Shephard of Wichita Falls
and Mrs. Judy Goforth, both
of Wichita Falls; two
brothers, Mark Jentsch and
Rev. David Jentsch of Forth
Wayne, Indiana.
Rosa Berend
Rosa Berend, 95, of
Windthorst died Friday in an
Archer City nursing home.
Rosary was held at 7:30
p.m. Sunday at Aulds
Funeral Home. Services
were at 10:30 a.m. Monday
at St. Mary’s Catholic
Church in Windthorst. The
Rev. Bart Landwermeyer,
pastor, will officiate. Burial
will be in St. Mary's
Cemetery.
Bom Feb. 18. 1886. in
Ossian. Iowa, she had lived
in Windthorst most of her
life. She was a member of
St. Mary's Parish and was
an honorary member of
Christian Mothers’ Society.
Survivors include six
daughters, Bertha Mun-
ch rath of Gordonville, Tex.,
Jean Gilleand, Elanor
Wachsmann and Olivia
WUde, all of Wichita Falls.
Beraadine Peysen and Leona
Koetter. both of Windthorst;
a son, Alfred of Windthorst;
three sisters, Mary Meurer
of Scotland, Tx. Sister
Bernarbo Godtken of San
Antonio, Apoline Schreiber
of Windthorst; 62 grand-
children, 161 great grand-
children and nine great-
great grandchildren.
Pallbearers include his
grandsons: Melvin and
Ricky Berend, Gifford Gille-
lad, LeRoy Munchrath, John
Peyaon and Tommy Wiide.
Survivors include his wife
Cora Dell of Wichita Falls;
two sons, J.J. Miller,
Wichita Falls and Duncan
Miller, Fort Worth; a
daughter, Mrs. Chesta Faye
New of Austin; two sisters.
Mrs. J.N. Segler. River-
crest, Calif, and Mrs. Jon
Mlllhollen, Vacaville, Calif.;
five brothers, Jake Holmes,
Wichita Falls; Bob Holmes.
Bryan; Joe Holmes. Elecira;
Jerry Holmes. Austin; and
George (Bud) Miller, Bryan;
an aunt, Mrs. Lucille
Moseley, Dundee and three
grand-daughters.
Effie Holley
McAnally
Services for Effie Holley
McAnally were held Friday
at 2 p.m. in the Megargel
Methodist Church. The
Rev. Annette Sowell, pastor,
officiated. Burial was in the
Megargel Cemetary under
the direction of Lunn
Funeral Home.
Mrs. McAnally was bom
May, 8, 1895, in Post Oak,
Texas, and had lived in the
Megargel Area for 65 years.
She was a housewife and a
Methodist.
Survivors include a
daughter, Florence Toole of
Oleny; three sons, Gark,
Frank and Lloyd, all of
Megargel; two sisters, Grace
Vestal of Abilene, Texas,
and Laura Theriot of
Louisiana; a brother, Frank
Holley of Graham; 15
grandchildren and 16 great-
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.R
Franklin, Bill Brackeen,
Richard Dirkse. Dick Cole
man, E.H. Woodley and
Elbert Brumbelow.
Honorary pallbearers were
members of the Archer
County Commissioners
Court and members of th<
Holliday, Bowman and
Lakeside City Volunteer Fire
Department.
Shanna Kay
Wylie
Shanna Kay Wylie, 9, was
killed in Holliday Saturday
evening when she was
struck by an automobile.
Texas Department of Public
Safety officers at the scene
said the girl was riding a
bicycle when she was struck
by the car.
She was taken to a Wichita
Falls hospital by Gold Cross
Ambulance where she was
dead on arrival.
Services were held at 4 p.m.
Monday in Erma Barton
Auditorium at Holliday High
School. Gil Peters, minister
of Holliday Giurch of Christ,
will officiate. Burial will be
in Holliday Cemetery under
direction of Owens &
Brumley Funeral Home of
Wichita Falls.
She was bom Nov. 4, 19871,
in Liberal, Kan. She was a
third grade student at
Holliday Elementary School.
She had lived in Holliday
under directions of Owens &
Brumley Funeral Home of
Wichita Falls.
Carter was bom Jan. 23,
1920, in Archer County and
was a lifelong resident of the
county. He was an
employee of Archer County
over 20 years, and was
appointed commissioner
from Precinct 1 in 1973. He
had begun serving his

second, full four-year term
as Precinct 1 Commissioner
in January.
While serving on the
commissioners court he was
instrumental in paving a
number of roads in the
Holliday and Lakeside City
areas. Carter was a member
of Texas Association of
Counties, County Judges
and Commissioners Asspco-
atopm of Texas, ani
Holliday, Bowman and
Lakeside City volunteer fire
departments.
Survivors include his wife,
Evon Carter; two daughters,
Betty Davis of Lakeside City
and Lee Ann Baugh of
Mustang, Okla.; two sisters,
Lura Sizemore of Alice,
Texas, and Maurine Riley of
Iowa Park and five grand-
children.
Archer County Commis-
sioner Arthur Carter, 61. of
Holliday, died Wednesday at
an Archer City hospital.
The Rev. Mike Grisham,
pastor, officiated. Burial
was in Holliday Cemetery
for six years.
She is survived by her
parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Charles Wylie; two brothers,
Kerry Allen Wylie and Ricky
Wylie, both of Holliday; two
sisters. Kimbra Lu Wylie
and Cynthia Ann Wylie,
both of Holliday; her
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
T.S. Wylie of Holliday and
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Green of
Marlow, Okla.; and her
great-grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. E.O. Barnett of
Marlow.__
