Parents of the prospective groom are Mr. and Mrs. Daniel
J. Gerik of West.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin
University, where she majored in business education. She is
currently employed at Baylor University as Manager of
Office Automation Systems.
Gerik received both his bachelor and master degrees in
computer science from Baylor University. He currently
serves as Academic Systems Manager at the Baylor
Computation Center.

They went to the Alamo, Tower of the Plaza, and the
Market Square. They also saw the Papal parade.

Larry Mashek. She also visited with Betty and Bob Ingram

announce the birth of their son, Clay Thomas, born at
9:09 p.m. Sept. 9, 1987 at Woodland Heights Hospital in
Lufkin.
Clay weighed eight pounds nine ounces and was 20 and
three-fourths inches long at birth.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Patrick P. Hutyra of Hills-
boro and Mr. and Mrs. N.T. Hudson of Euless. A great-
grandmother is Mrs. Hattie Hubik of Hubbard.

Douglas Paul Psencik is proud to announce the arrival of
his new sister, Katie Beth, born at 2:41 a.m. September
11,1987 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco.
Katie Beth weighed six pounds thirteen ounces and was
20 inches long.
Grandparents are Victor and Mary Ann Pavlas of Abbott
and Bo and Bertha Psencik of Itasca. Great-grandparents
are Mr. and Mrs. Victor Pavlas Sr. of Abbott.

Michael and Karen Klish of Moore, Oklahoma are proud
parents of a baby boy, Shayne Michael, born at 8:43 a m.
September 5, 1987 at Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma.
Shayne weighed six pounds and 15 ounces and was 20
inches long at birth.
Grandparents are Helen and Raymond Klish of West and
Doris and Richard Brinlee of Moore, Oklahoma. Great-
grandparents are Bertha Klish of West and Annie Carter of

Deanna Marie Vrba would like to announce the arrival of
her new sister, Rebecca Lynn, born at 9:35 a.m.
September 1, 1987 in Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro.
Rebecca Lynn is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J.
Vrba Jr. of Itasca, Texas. Rebecca Lynn weighed six
pounds and 15 ounces.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Beuley of Itasca, Mr.
and Mrs. John Norman of Burleson and Mr. and Mrs.

September 7 and celebrated
her birthday on September
13 with a party at her home.
Chastity had a barbecue
supper with all the trimmings
and a “Little Pony” birthday
cake and ice cream.

her parents Harry and Linda
Rejcek and her brother
Brannon. Other guests
attending were her grand-
mothers Teresa Kapavik and
Bessie Rejcek. Her aunts,

schools are having Septem-
ber 21.
Membership chairman,
Barbara Junek, Is attempting
to break last year’s record of
420 members, which earned
the West PTA a commenda-
tion from the state office.
There are over six million
PTA members in 25,000 lo-
cal units nationwide and
membership is open to every
adult. Not only are parents
and teachers eligible, but also
grandparents, relatives,
school board members and
other interested volunteers.
Dues are $2 per person, of
which fifty cents goes to the
National PTA for various pro-
jects.
West PTA president, Ray
Kapczynski, stressed that
although membership
enrollment is focused in
September and October,
efforts continue year round.
The strength of PTA lies in Its
membershtp-the volunteers
who tirelessly devote
themselves to making this a
better world for children and
youth.
The operation of the
concession stands during
football season is a local PTA
project. Linda Ashley is
concession chairman and she
is in need of workers
throughout the season.
